[BF4] UNLOCKED UCAV. NEVER playing Air Superiority EVER again.

What a FUCKING moronic design they made for AS mode... DICE knew this mode will be only populated by one of two types of people.

1. Tryhard wanna-be aces that can't play combined arms mode, or refuse to help out in combined arms mode.
2. People trying to unlock UCAV.

I don't care about category 1 type, but if this mode is for category 2 types, then ticket count is WAY~~~~ to small to get 5 kills. If even 1 person gets 5 kills, its pretty much a miracle (or other team sucks).

I am not the best pilot in the world (or even decent at it anymore, since I lost my touch), but it took me AGES to get 5 kills in a round 3 times.

My stats TANKED to way low thanks to this mode as well.

Anyway, I'm glad I am done with this crap. Fuck this game mode.

Scavenger wasn't that bad.

Scavenger is unquestionably better than current Air Superiority.

Though, if you are lacking any sort of unlocks for steal jet, use all your max boosts, and get all the unlocks. I am sitting at 5 star for stealth jet, just for doing AS over and over again.

Ugh...I'm dreading the day I finally decide to do this assignment.

Its currently well worth it, as UCAV is the most broken thing you can get, if you want to say "fuck combined arms game" and want no one in the other team getting into vehicles. Its the most effective thing against vehicles, and there is nothing you can do about it, except pray the user is an idiot pilot. But, as you know, in order to get this, you cannot be a crappy pilot. So... vehicles are screwed at the moment.

I thought MBT LAW was annoying enough, but UCAV is a whole new level.

Guided shell seems to be fixed, as I got locked on and got shot down by one. But I cannot confirm this, as I was just on the receiving end, not the one shooting.

I highly doubt it, unless you can time it well when it circles around after initial launch on a low altitude.

There is a huge bug in the game at the moment for the two gadgets. When it gets destroyed, sometimes your screen does not render, which leaves you completely vulnerable and cannot take any action. The only way to fix it is to relaunch UCAV or SUAV, or die and redeploy.

I have made a few kills in rush mode with SUAV, and its absolutely lulzy. Its not so effective in heavily wooded areas, like Zavod, but its absolute lulz fest in Golmud Railway. Nice open areas, and predictable cover spots. When your team is pinned down, and enemy team is using either of the two new gadgets... Just exit the game. LoL

well the UCAV does 50 damage to any vehicle, so if you have another guy with a UCAV and ram choppers with them...

50 damage is enough to send a chopper into the ground anyways.

Only helo able to get away with sustaining 50 damage in a single shot is scout helo, which is agile enough to move around a little bit without crashing straight to something.

Other helos would just flip over.

I've had a team (thankfully mine) that had at the minimum 7 support (nearly half the team in rush mode) all launching UCAV. UCAV signs all over the place, and explosions occurring every single second somewhere.

And I can personally confirm that UCAV does 50 damage to ANY VEHICLE AT ANY ANGLE. Two UCAV and one tank down. Soon people will be just launching UCAV at each other trying to take out UCAV operators, or SUAV going on a UCAV user hunt.

Bring on the drone warfare!

I never used vehicles much anyway thankfully but I've been killed by that drone and there's no way to tell it's even coming at you, I couldn't hear anything on my surround sound headset unless it's very whisper quiet, and as fast as it moves anyway you'd be dead as soon as you hear it anyway lol.

Actually you can use attack jet as well. But, most people do not have the skill necessary to get 5 kills in a round before getting shot down, and having someone else jumping in the seat.

Of course, if you are a good pilot, no problem. I actually really should have just played more conquest, as I found that killing infantry with 30mm cannon with attack jets not that hard. Get a good angle on near stationary targets, or a lump of infantries, and give it a good solid burst will net a kill. However, as with stealth jets, if a equally matched pilots meet, they usually just circle around each other until the end of round, unless someone breaks it up by helping out one side, or give up and try to be useful to the team (and get shot down for giving up).

The UCAV requirements really was put in place with AS mode in mind, unless DICE specifically wanted UCAV only available to select few people. But then, if they really wanted that then they really should have not made AS mode available in the first place.

@Jr - UCAV seems more silent than SUAV, as SUAV has the distinctive propeller sound, while UCAV seems to just glide around. I can tell if SUAV is trying to kill me, but its hard to notice UCAV. On top of that, you are NOT going to hear crap if you are in a vehicle anyway. LoL

I am rubbish in jets so I very well may never get the UCAV. which I'm fine with honestly. I have no desire to camp my base and send drones flying across the level for cheap kills.

I can see it being a round saver, if attackers are locked in their base not being able to move out (ie Flood Zone first base. Getting caped by AA and decent engies become nightmare for attackers). So, if you can somehow get it, it is well worth it.

You don't have to use it as an exploit weapon.
