[BF4] UCAV. New level of base camping.

Mortar is SLIGHTLY fixed, so that you can't get infinite ready rounds at a time (takes a while for it to regen now), but now there is UCAV.

I have seen people who camp at base as support and launch nothing but UCAV the entire round.

If is MUCH more accurate (you fly it, so if you can fly jet, you can fly this thing), AND you can get it back from ammo box.

It takes exactly 50HP of Anti-Air vehicle regardless of whether you hit it in the front or not, and I have a feeling it will do double damage to the back.

I am getting quite worried about the two new flying gadgets, now that I have seen video posted by Frost, and seen UCAV in action myself.

There is absolutely no reason to play engineer for anti-vehicle purposes, unless you need to fix stuff. I even suspect UCAV will be able to double as anti-air as well.

Have a squad of support all equipped with UCAV, circling around on a pile of ammo box, and throw UCAV all day long.

You will destroy anything that dares to show up in your game. Have someone spot a tank from a mile away (or just find it yourself while flying), and launch kamikaze all at once. You cannot defend against this thing, except you hope that idiots are flying this thing. Even then, those who actually unlocked this at the moment are pretty much considered aces when it comes to flying (or at the very least very competent), so expect shorter lifespan if you jump into a vehicle against a team that aggressively launches UCAV all round long.

How much damage does this thing do to vehicles? If I recall it can do damage to enemy helicopters (not that helicopters don't have enough AA to contend with), but I don't remember if it does any noticeable damage to armor.

As mentioned in initial post, I was in AA and got hit with one UCAV. It did 50 damage to the FRONT ARMOUR. So, two UCAV will take down AA regardless of where it hits. I was using thermal scope for AA, and I could not see it coming straight at me. Its even stealthier than stealth jets. LoL

Probably three or four of this will destroy a MBT. And if the side damages apply, probably only two is going to be enough.

Seeing from all of your comments, clearly none of you actually have the ucav and are just bitching about it. Well let me tell you now, that thing is a bitch to use. You have you be a huge distance from your target to actually hit it or you will just go right over, it handles like shit (controls are diverent from jets), it takes days to reload and you only start with one. and its so god damn fast thathitting your target or finding one before you pass it is near rediculous. Not to mention that the amount of time you have from launch to battery running out is very short, there are no segond chances, you miss thats it. All that plus te fact that it is a god among bitches to unlock. Als because of howling it takes to reload, you han fully repair a vehical inbetween shots and one regular mode the auto repair will have you back to 75% all by itself.

Thats a bold statement you are making that none of us actually have UCAV. I definitely have it unlocked, and have used it quite a bit. And I had experience of watching it being used by other players, even in masses.

Its easier to fly than jets because the controls are different. Its just aim up to move up, aim down to move down, aim left to move left, aim right to move right. Its TV missile made easy to control. One of the reason why it is so effective is because you don't have to be close to the target, and if you are overshooting, you are obviously too close and this does not even apply to the notion of base camping.

Yes, you do only get one "ammo" just like mortar, but unlike mortar, you can actually replenish this with ammo box. And despite it taking quite long to replenish, its still reusable. Also, you don't have to be the only one to use it. Talk to your squad or team and see if anyone has it unlocked, then you can take out any vehicle with one coordinated strike. You will get it back faster than a vehicle spawn (especially more powerful ones).

Battery is short only in comparison to SUAV, and its enough to circle around and get a second chance if you are close enough to overshoot your target. Also, battery is long enough to hit targets from attacker/defender base to another base.

There are quite a lot of players that have actually unlocked this. And since its bitch to unlock (as you have mentioned), among those that have unlocked this there are more players that are experienced enough to actually exploit it.

Saw a guy this weekend go 20-0 using the UCAV. Never left his base, just spammed it and destroyed every tank and multiple helis while being totally invulnerable

In responce to StormEye, I made that statement from reading the prior comments and how no one actually mentioned having it. Also about the number of people who have it, I play on both console and PC, I prefer console because its a level playing field. On PC, yes there are a lot more people who I have seen with it and have it. On PS# and even PS4 on the other hand, almost no one seems to have it, mainy of thepeople I meet and even my friends say thay have never seen it before I show them it. That and I have only been killed by one other person with it and other than that I have not seen anyone elso. Also I beleive the controls are a bit ,-- ignore the unfinished sentence I am typing blind because the text is not apearing.

I haven't seen a single person use it on PS4 so I can't say.
I have also never seen anyone with the other UAV on console.

The full release of China Rising DLC is on 17th of December, so you can't get UCAV and SUAV unlocked as of now unless you have a premium account, since those two require a task that can only be done in the DLC.

I suppose not as many people have premium service on consoles, or there are just not as many people bothering to get assignments for UCAV done.

yep, thats pretty much what was happening. kinda hilarious.

plus there was a kid who hadnt figured out that Kinect = Mic. so you could always tell when a UCAV killed him because he would start screaming BS XD

There was a guy in Silk Road (new DLC map) that was doing nothing but UCAV entire round, getting something like 9-0 (single digit at least, iirc) and staying rock bottom in his team.

I see this sort of behavior more and more, and it seems like its becoming a stat padding tool to boost KDR.

This showcases how disgustingly OP the UCAV and whatever is IMO. Though it is funny too boot.
