God, I am horrid at PC games.

Been playing Console games for years. Last time I had a PC game was like...8 years ago...if not more. And even then it was basic games like Fallout 1-2, or some Star Wars RTS(Galaxy at War or something like that). So I was never required to play something very keyboard and mouse heavy.

Im okay at Skyrim as I am at the moment using an archer character, so I tend to stay a decent amount from fights.

And im okay at L4D2. But god BF3? Trying to cordinate and use all the appropriate buttons on the keyboard and shoot at the same time is just hard.
I can't fight like I used to. Can't run and gun, or crouch and prone in firefights like I can on console. I spend most of my time camping corners. Hell even firing at a distance is hard, and trying to burst fire is kinda killing me

I was the same way at first, and the thing that instantly fixed it for me pretty much was in the in-game options of BF3 or any game for that matter, turn the mouse sensitivity down to the lowest it'll go and if that's too slow barely turn it up a little from there. And if your mouse has DPI settings I use 1600 on my mouse

on stuff like L4D2 and any console port I'd just use a wired xbox 360 controller. Pretty much only use mouse for fps and RTS

I remember my first match of BF3 on PC. I went like 2-19 or something stupid like that. It'll take some weeks to get used to mouse and keyboard. You need to get flexibility, coordination and independence in your fingers so you can reach all the important keys easily without lifting your hand of wads.

This is how I generally play. Middle finger handles w and s, ring finger is a and index is d. Index also covers x and c which I have bound to prone and crouch. It also handles f and g but I have those bound to mouse buttons for melee and grenades. My thumb is on the space bar for vault and my pinky handles shift and ctrl for sprint and hold to crouch (this is really useful for popping in and out of cover in firefights use it instead of c or whatever your crouch toggle key is). The number keys 1-5 I handle with a few different fingers. 1 is ring 2 & 3 is middle and 4 & 5 is index. Index also handles E and R for interact and reload. And finally ring is in charge of q for spot. I think that's all the important ones.

It just takes practice to get good at doing all those things. What helped me a lot was playing a shitload of borderlands 2 as the controls are quite similar and it's a little less stressful environment to practice in than BF3 multiplayer.

yeah it takes some getting used to.

i still prefer playing Skyrim, Fallout and Just Cause 2 with a gamepad, it feels too weird using a KB/M after hundreds of hours playing them on console.

Skyrim did feel pretty weird at first but I think I like it better with keyboard and mouse now. I can bind so many favorites.

I still play Skyrim with a gamepad. It's the kind of game I like to sit back on a couch and play.
