Considering society's opinion on them why this already isnt a thing is beyond me

But basically this would allow prosecutors to ask for the Death penalty

There is a big difference between a pedophile and a child molester. Anyways the death penalty is a really touchy subject, especially when murder is not involved. I think you should have asked if crimes besides murder should qualify for the death penalty. Also I feel I should add that its costs more on average to hand out the death penalty then it does to give them life in prison.

Logistically, it costs less to execute a prisoner than to keep them for 25+ years.

In cases of sexual child abuse (actual physical abuse, not just kiddie porn), I'd openly advocate for the death penalty, even though a lot of newer research suggests that childhood sexual encounters aren't nearly as traumatic as previously though.

I truly don't understand why humanity is necessary when executing a prisoner. That case is an actual instance of a person having been deemed to dangerous or too monstrous to live, why treat them as a person should be?
