I like sex, but I don't need it. It's not the most important thing to me, an emotional connection is more important than a physical one.

This thread rules. And on topic, I slighlty agree with OP. It depends and is totally situational with me. Especially once in a relationship. Ive been with my current girl a little over two years. I can turn it down to prove a point lol, and have before. Bur fuck it, sex is to damn fun and I enjoy it way to much lol. So you can put two and two together.

On the sex after marriage thing: It is seen as a religious thing, and usually is, but... Most people I've talked with about this at various times say they see point of it once they have had kids. It ends up being a hindsight is 20/20 thing. People can do whatever they want, but when you are raising a kid(s) the whole marriage thing makes sense because it definitely helps in the raising of the child.

BTW I have 2 kids (more or less, my second on is due any day now), and I am not married, but it is a serious relationship, with the same woman.

Ok ok ok serious post now.

Sex is truly one of the most precious gifts that 2 people can share with each other. There is nothing on the planet that compares to what amounts sharing the most intimate places of your body with someone. In a perfect world you'd care deeply about this person and this person would care about you.

I'm at a point where I will turn it down if I feel like I'm not capable of caring for a person the way they should be cared for because that's not far. I'm past the empty meaningless situations that I once embarked on.

I understand the need to sow oats and all that jazz, but just realize that there are feelings involved in this action and this should always be considered.

If you feel like you want to hit it and quit then at the very least make it known up front that you aren't looking for a relationship, that's only fair and in some case you could get a fwb situation out if it without feelings getting hurt (yours or theres).

Buzz killington everyone.

And sex's main purpose isnt pleasure, its to make a family technically, it feels good so we do it and have children, if it didnt we'd be like pandas, more interested in eating and sleeping than doing it.

I agree with buzz killington over there, haha. Honestly, I always said I would wait until I was married until I had sex, and I didn't. But on the other hand, I also married the only person I've ever had sex with. (Granted we started dating when we were fifteen...not much chance to ever sleep with anyone else even if I'd wanted too, haha). I think that it is up to the individual person and what it means to you, honestly. My husband is my soulmate - we aren't perfect, but I can't imagine being with anyone else. But that is just me, I don't knock anyone for doing what they want, except maybe marrying just to have sex. Don't do that, lol.

I'm not looking for sex. I'm looking for a girl who I can connect with intellectually. Sex comes after that. I'm not going to get involved with a girl I'm not interested in just for sex.

The problem is that not only do I have to find someone who I can hold an interesting conversation with, but we also both have to be attracted to one another.

I don't know. It's frustrating. The first girlfriend I had was really smart, and we understood each other very well, had a lot of the same opinions on culture (very important), but she had a lot of personal issues with her past that I did not know how to deal with. Also, her mom was a blimp, and was a crazy hoarder who wouldn't clean the house, and had tables made of self-help books. Growing up in a house with your only parent being a basket case isn't really encouraging for forming a long lasting relationship. Also, she wouldn't put out, even after five months.

The next girl was awesome. Hillarious, fun, liked to screw. She was into a lot of the same movies and music as me, so we connected well on that level, but she was really quite stupid. She believed in mystical nonsense called reiki. Her goal was to become a reiki therapist. I couldn't handle that kind of crazy crap. Also, when I went into the Navy, she started screwing this dude that I had a really low opinion of.

Then I get to Japan. No one speaks English. I can't possibly have a relationship with a girl who I can only speak broken English with, and have to try to use electronic translators to communicate with. I tried it a couple times, and it just was frustrating. Three years in Japan, with dumb skanky nasty military chicks, and Japanese girls who can only talk to me about food.

I get back from the military, and I am at a loss. Four years without a relationship, let alone much interaction with women, and everyone seems stupid. I don't want to fuck anyone. I can hardly start a conversation. I'm a confident guy, but I've got nothing to say to a girl unless she gives me a good reason to, and it seems like whenever a girl starts a conversation with me, it's not worth listening to.

Girl: "Hey did you watch Jersey Shore last night?"
Me: "No."
Girl: "Why not? It was so good!"
Me: "Because that show is for idiots."

End of conversation. No poon for Cram.
Doomed to misanthropy.

Justin Bieber will get his voice change, then he will suck even more than he already does. and the entire Jersey Shore cast i am pretty sure are legally mentally challenged.

why anyone would watch or listen to that garbage is beyond me.

unfortunately for guys (not just the young ones either), most women tend to go with the flow with whatever their best friends find cool and/or entertaining at the time, and thanks to stupid bee-otches like Paris Hilton and those frickin' slut-bags from Laguna Beach, girls think it's okay to be a whore and to literally know nothing beyond what they are going to wear the next day or who's having sex with who.

frankly, being smart is soooooo last century, in the current times we now find ourselves. now that we've been liberated, i guess our next stop is undoing everything that we fought so hard to gain for the last thousand years or so. next thing you know, we'll no longer be able to vote, and we'll be back in the kitchen makin' pies barefoot and pregnant.

also, people who allow their eleven year old daughters to wear mini skirts without anything underneath it, lowcut shirts, and makeup need to be shot in the face.

tl;dr, society pisses me off

Well the end at least. Not the part about women becoming kitchen hoars again.
I hate the girls that dress in mini skirts and stuff or make up. and if it's makeup they throw it on or have some random kid do it for them it looks like.
But then again I have a problem with girls that use fake tan, they become orange and look horrible >.>. Lrn2Use Fake Tan if you are going to use it D:

Then again, makeup is banned here in school because it's just a distraction but you're allowed MILD amounts of it in 11th grade. Girls still do it though and get told to remove it, they do it and then put it back on which I think is a waste of time and money for them to bother. (These girls get told atleast 10 times a day in my classes.)

Idk if you feel more desire or not, but it's basic biology. The hormones come out full tilt when you're able to make babies because back in the cave man days there was no guarantee you'd even make it to 20, so shit had to get done as soon as possible. Not sure how that works out in real life with other factors like how much you've gotten, religion, etc.

I see your basic biology. And I raise you life experience.

I think the biology of it is that you go from no drive to lots of drive as a teen. So that step is pretty great. But I have not lost any drive since my teen days. Once sex is experienced with the right person, it's amazing. As a teen, you don't know what the **** you're doing. So it's confusing and in some cases embarassing.
