The BF keeps getting this screen popping up that tells him his skill level. Why? It doesn't do this to me.

It pops up when your overall skill level either goes up or down. Just ignore it... I do.

mine stays in the 190's all the time. but idk why it wont pop up for you.

It usually pops up each time I start the game saying it's changed.

Makes no damn sense most of the time though. Today mine said it dropped by 80 points, even though I was on a win streak last time I played and was absolutely steamrolling the other teams. Had a higher KD than normal, higher W/L ratio, higher SPM, everything. I think it's just a number they put in there to fuck with people.

It pops up after you either a) open all the all kit stuff b) unlock everything in the game, kit wise c) you get to a certain level. I'm leaning towards after you unlock everything. I didn't see it as often as I do now (which is everytime I play the game) until I unlocked everything (I bought a medic short-cut kit, I hate playing medic)

It's a complicated system. A lot of it has to do with the players you go against. You beat levels 50s and such, it goes up. You get beat by dirty sub-human bronze taggers, it goes down.

mine always jumps around between 198 and 200. it has done that for as long as i can remember

Hmm. I think the BF still has recon and tank to finish unlocking completely. Maybe it's a level thing.

I never play as medic or engineer. It's going to be a while before I unlock all those.

Can't figure it out but when I kick a whole bunch of ass it goes to 0 and tells me I suck. When I suck it tells me I'm pure awesomeness???
I think it's related to unlocking everything.

Its unlocked when you get your Silver tags at level 21

Most people already unlocked everything by then

Also this is how skill works

If your Killed by someone with a Higher skill than you it goes does a little
If you get killed by someone with a lower skill than you it goes down alot
If you kill someone with a higher skill than you it goes up alot
If you kill someone with a lower skill than you it goes up a little

I HATE being a medic. I hate the LMGs, and a very hard time time just trying to get the med-kit. I had a few extra points I couldn't use and getting the one kit was under 200pts, so I used the extra.

Skill level in BC2 is a joke. It seems to randomly assign a skill level for you on any given day. One day, do absolutely horrible, skill level goes up from 199 to 200. Next day, kick ass, 3+ K/D, 300 SPM all day, skill level goes down to 190. I swear, that it randomly choses a number that it feels you should be your skill number; that's why the company is named DICE, lol. Anything that happens, is like a roll of the dice. xD
