Seriously, its a piece of shit, for the past 2 months, it will decide "fuck you i dont wanna work right now" and even though its on and says its transmitting a signal, its really not. As i type, i am sitting about 7 in from it and my ipod cant even pick it up, neither can my dads laptop, which is about 3' from it. And even though its been just fine the past few days, today it decided to fuck off. Its really iritating to be able to pick up the signal, have max strength, and it still wont connect.

Sorry for the language but this is getting on my nerves.

Have you tried unplugging it for a minute?

Some routers need to reset every once and a while. I usually have to reset mine once every month or two or it starts constantly dropping my connection.

Yes i have reset/unplugged my router and modem many times, but it still says fuck you.

our router is a linksys, and it drops the internet constantly. i had to call the company on several occasions, and try and get it sorted. p.o.s.

I have a Linksys too, it fucks up every once and a while but it still works great considering it is several years old.

yeah, linksys routers are notorious pieces of crap. call the router company, i had to do it a few times, they can tell you what to do to reset it manually.

Yea, Linksys is garbage. For a gamer, go D-Link. I will try to help.

What type of Linksys is it? Your laptop for say is getting signal, but not being able to get online. It is connected to your wireless SSID?

It would be better for you to get on LIVE and i discuss it with you. But, i dunno if your 360 is on wired?

dd-wrt? Wow, i didn't expect Tom to know this. It is a program basically like you installing the "Damn Small Linux" on your router. It can basically upgrade your router to do more of a modern day router such as, having QOS when you didn't on your router originally. For example, i put DD-wrt on my old linksys and made that router act like a "hot spot" to get my internet through wireless and you could plug wired PC's to that router and get internet. Like a laptop can when you go to a hotspot.

Why did you not except me to know this? I created the tech forum and and huge fan of open source firmware. (especially since it gave my router DMZ and gave me a 2 Mbps boost in speed.)

Just didn't expect you to know those things at your age, Tom. Its unusual around here for a 15 year old to have that knowledge.


I am a geek, it runs in the family. My uncle is a Computer Technician.

I have geek ed out and would teach myself most of what i know. Plus, learning from experience of problems occurring and trying to read and figure them out.
