Veteran Status ?

I've been putting it off but I need to go do it.

So how do I do that exactly?

I got mine by signing up to play Battlefield heroes and then unlocking vet status at the BC2 website. If you go to the BC2 site and click veteran it should be pretty easy to do from there. Of course this was back in March when I did mine.

I didn;t have any trouble either by going the Battlefield heroes route.

I got it by playing BC1 and BC Modern Combat.

I don't need some number to tell me i'm a veteran!

The only reason I tried for Veteran was just so I could have the M1 Garand.

I was all hyped to use the garand..... Got 25 kills with it for the bronze and never did use it after that... haha. Its not a bad gun and nice sights.

I actually had 300 kills or so with it, but they all are counted towards the Thompson.

I probably wouldn't use the garand. vet status for me would be

Same here. I didnt hate the gun, but I'd rather use another.

I agree Mills there is just so many other fun choices out there. I will say the sound of the gun is sweet if you have a good sound system. It has a nice crack to it.

I liked it because it sounds awesome, teaches you patience, and takes a little effort to use, unlike a lot of weapons in most games.

*slaps* I want a Nambu! Always have! While stereotyped among most Eastern weapons for being low quality, the Nambu is actually a VERY well-made pistol with an underpowered cartridge. It's actually been known to make better groupings than the 1911 family, which says something.

Ummmmm I don't know what books you have been reading but out of the 50 or so I have read they all talk about the poor quality of the Nambu.....

Most of the bashing comes from people who have NEVER owned, let alone tested one. The Nambu/Arisaka family of rifles get more undeserved bashing than any weapons out there. The Nambu itself is actually extremely well made, the cartridge it fires sucks though.

Well I don't own one but have a fair knowledge of WWII era equipment and this pistol was inferior in construction as well as the underpowered cartridge it used. Not a pistol I would want. Hell even the Japanese officers that could afford other sidearms didn;t use this gun.

I would have used the Garand if they gave me my well earned Vet Status at launch. By the time I did get I had the M14 and it was glicthed so why use it?

Now in Nam....different story.

The Type 14 is known to shoot more accurately than the 1911, the P-38, and the Tokarev, hardly what I would call inferior. It's design also gave it a very mild recoil and it was very nice to shoot/handle. Also, there is something most people do not know about the Nambu, especially considering the fact that magazines for it cost $100+. When you load the magazine, you pull down the slide on the side, then tilt it sideways, and it will be held in place, allowing you to freely put rounds into the magazine, without the slide digging into your thumb. When finished, you tip the magazine up, and it returns to it's normal function, allowing it to feed the weapon properly. The weapon in itself is a masterpiece. The only thing I don't like is the $.80-$1.00 per round, because of how rare the 8x22mm round is.

The design may be good but the fact is during the war it was cheaply made and inferior. Nambu = suck

1911 and the Mauser are my favorite pistols in RL.

Well, considering the fact that even though I'm better now, I don't blame them, for how I was about a month or two ago. Getting better though, but little things still set me off sometimes.

O well. I will say that the design sounds good.... But I will still argue that for when it was made it was made cheaply, and the underpowered cartridge both add up to being an inferior gun at the time.

It wasn't really made that cheaply though. The Mosin Nagant is made much more cheaply, but that rifle is absolutely amazing for how cheap you can get it for, and it fires a powerful round. The Nambu is constructed with quality, it just takes a bizzaro round that's a little underpowered. They are absolutely beautiful if you can find them in relatively new condition.
