I just got Netflix this week, and was looking for some movies to watch.

Preferably movies later than 1980, but if it's a comedy or some mind blowing crazy shit it can be earlier. I just get bored by a lot of the old school action movies before special effects were any good at all(like for example I didn't like the original Ocean's Eleven).

Not a huge fan of horror movies either but any other genre is fair game.

I just got done watching "Being John Malkovich" while waiting for suggestions. Pretty weird movie, no clue where the fuck they came up with that shit, but I liked it.

I'm gonna check out World's Greatest Dad next, then look into your guys' other suggestions.

Brother Mouzon: I thought About a Boy was a chick flick...am I wrong? I assumed that because Hugh Grant is in it.

Sheep: Wristcutters: A Love Story is awesome, I didn't know a lot of people have seen it.

As for my suggestions:
Apocalypse Now (fitting for Vietnam)
Shotgun Stories: I just saw it the other day on the Sundance Channel, and I'd put it up as one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Those movies are.. odd, I like them but the art style looks funny like all the women still look like guys.

I suggest Three Extremes if it's there just because they're the most weirdass horrors ever.

Shooter's a good one, Mark Wahlberg is the fucking man.

Or if you want a depressing movie, try The Road. Probably the most realistic depiction of what the world would be like after the apocalypse.

That movie looks crazy but they don't have it available for streaming.

Anyways just watched Defiance, pretty awesome stuff. Next up is some non-war movie, then after that probably Apocalypse Now. I'm guessing I should see the three hour Redux?

I'm personally a fan of extended editions if I can so I'd say yay to the redux.

The first time I ever watched it was the Redux version so I may be a bit biased.

I've heard rumblings from AN purists that say the added stuff ruins the pacing of the movie along with some other complaints but whatever.

Just watched this tonight. I have to say, I expected a chick flick and was surprised it wasn't. About a Boy is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. The soundtrack was pretty good too.
