Dropped Da Soap

Dropped Da Soap

Im having an argument with a friend right now.

Now first I don't condone camping in either game.

But he swears up and down that it is the same thing in either game.

I kept saying that in BC2 there is normally a reason for camping. Your holding a flag or defending a charge. But he swears that its the same exact thing as camping in TDM.

HELP ME!

Yeah it's way different

When you are defending a crate in BC2, some camping is to be expected. I mean there are several stationary guns for fucks sake.

Also it's a lot easier to get rid of a camper in BC2 due to spotting and destructible environments. If you camp, you're gonna get served. So it's really not a big deal for the person fighting against it and there is really no reason to complain about it.

It's a legitimate tactic in either game. More so in BC2 due to the heavy focus on objectives. Why wouldn't I post up in a high traffic area that's easy for me to kill the enemy in?

And for the record, a camper isn't the same thing as a person who sits in one area for the entirety of a match no matter the condition of the team. Those people are called idiots.

Camping in Battledfield. Let's take the expample of Hiding in Random house covering the Stairs. Legit. Often useless. Gets you one kill. Mostly ends with the Revenge Killer Blowing you up.

Defending is not Camping.

COD camping is different to a degree. 3 versions of it as well. Hiding in a corner and getting one kill(mostly on people 1 kill away from a kill streak)

2: Defeding a Choke point.

3: Going to a popular spot and not letting people in. Then killing all the revenge seekers over and over.

COD4 Grandma's House. I'd just sit in that attic all game and kille the same 4 idiots over and over becuase they want REVENGE!

How did camping become such a hated playstyle? just because youre not running around guns blazing doesnt mean youre somehow cheating/being cheap.

I really dont get it, why didnt run&gunning become so hated?

Started in Counter-Strike IIRC. Since if you died you had to wait for the next round and that could be awhile.

Yep, that's where all my hate for camping comes from. It was so annoying just watching someone sit there doing nothing while waiting for the next round.

This I've tried to explain to friends that defending a flag/mcom is not in any way camping. when I think of camping I think of someone getting in a hard to reach area (most likely not inteded in the map in more than a few cases) and killing people out in the middle of bfe. while defending should be rather obvious.

Lies! LIES! I did this and got at least 5 kills... on the same guy too I believe. It was awesome! And hilarious! Until they mortared by hidey hole. ><

Who cares about camping? I don't. Let them. Sometimes I just want to sit on an McCom and do nothing. I like perching on them. It makes me lol.

But I wasn't talking about being useful. I was talking about it only getting you one kill. Which you didn't stipulate as often. You said "often useless". Therefor I win and your argument in invalid.

Of course I stole your heart... s'what I do, and I'm damn good at it. Alpha Female baby! =P

Well you only killed a Sponge 5 times. 7 more times it would be like killing a 5 year old once.

Also a 1 out of 57 3/4 occurence doesn't make it as good 'A tactic as my Run in the room Sceaming like a Mad Man and kill everybody and walk away with explsion going off behind me as light up a cigar in slow motion aproach.

I win.
(disputing this you have a crush on my alpha male status)

How do you come up with this shit? Lol

Tater

LOL!!!

Responding to the OP soap!!

BC2 your defending an objective! so it's not camping. It's only camping if you no where near the objective and only going for kills.

COD TDM your defending your own life in the game so it's camping! TDM the objective is to kill more people than the other team! if your sitting in a corner your not helping your team.

I don't camp in BC2 per se, thats insane. What I do that constitutes camping is cover a small area. Like a flag. I run around, stop, look for possible enemies, lock down entrances, then move to a different vantage point for the same area.

And then I move on to another area, do the same thing, call in the enemies I can't engage for my allies, and generally stay hidden, running around, until I kill a few people then relocate to an unlikely spot.

Got 16-2 doing that yesterday. As a Recon. And I'm not even that good with the whole "sniping" aspect (was not red dotting).

CoD camping is some dude around the corner with a FAMAS who sprays you as you pass. Possibly with Ghost and a silencer. Or in the case of HC, pretty much everyone with any gun + silencer + scope + Ghost + Ninja.

Ask your friends if they be happier if you ran circles around the mcom, watching it, instead of sitting in a window and watching it

well COD has better tents with more inside them, but BC2 has the great locations and the campfire is pretty badass.

plus on COD you have to walk everywhere, in BC2 you can pack everything into the Vodnik and drive to the next campsite.
