So I am thinking about moving in with my friends parents for a week or two.

Just to get away from my house.

Apparently because I am 18 now my mom says that its time I "Grow up, stop acting like a kid and learn some responsibility" or she is kicking me out.

Now I always hear that parents only do this when their kid has dropped out of school or got suspended or something, or is doing drugs, or got a girl pregnant or whatever. But im sorry, I have never heard of threatening a kid with that, despite the fact he is still in school, pulls a 3.78 GPA, has worked at the same job for almost two years and has only taken one sick day, who is still a virgin, never touched drugs nor even smoked a cigeratte.

But apparently its time to grow up and stop playing video games and reading comics she says.

We got into this whole fight on the way home about how I am not responsible in the slightest and all that, and that it pains her to say it "but if I don't shape up I am getting kicked out".

I mean a lot more went on then just that but I don't feel like talking about it.

But tonight I bought two bins from work just to store all my excess crap in before we had this fight. And I was filling them both up when she walks out of her room to the front to leave. She saw what I was doing and asked what I was doing.
I of course still not in the greatest mode, with slight tears in my eyes turned and looked at her and told her "Apparently I just realized that I am 18 now and its time to start acting like an adult. So I am just putting away all the stuff that I love and enjoy cause their too kiddish".

She didn't say anything but just walked out.

So I don't know, I don't even know what brought all this on. All I know is it pissed me off cause it all started from a comment on how I had better get off my ass and get my butt in gear before I get expelled from school. Yet I have been going to that school for almost 4 years now, and have only had one trauncy, yet my sister who has been going for 5-6 months was almost expelled last week. And I am the one who is getting yelled at about getting expelled.

So I might go stay with my friends parents for a while. Just until this shit calms down. I don't think it will bother them any, even though my friend is off at college. I mean even before he left I was staying there weekly, and have been doing that for almost 8 years now. Hell they even bought me my own bed a year ago.

SO I don't know. But apparently not doing any of the crap most kids my age do, is grounds for being kicked out of my house.

I moved at 17 did the job thing, honestly there's a way to balance both. Im a huge geek..but still do what I need to do..if thag makes sense ....

But yeah..iv been there, do you you think you have to do. Just don't go burning bridges along the way. And don't change who you are over it.

No, never do talk to my mom like that. But I havent done ANYTHING wrong and it pissed me off. So I yelled and stuff at her.

Well i know not to argue with my pops no matter how wrong he is because he'll get angry or just say he pays the bills so his right.

She being a woman could be that time.. I use to think people were joking when they said that but it holds true for alot of women...

wow, i cant imagine what my parents are going to be like when i turn 18.
its not like things have been going all that great for me recently, grades arent too good, etc.

scared theyre just gonna be like 'fuck it, were done with you'. although, theres a part of me that looking forward to not living with my family in brothers in the same house that ive been in since a child.

Id say pack up your stuff and go without notice lol. If you dont have any siblings who have already moved out then she might realize she doesnt actually want you to leave.

I don't talk to most of my family. I don't hate them, it's just we have very, very little in common.

That sucks soap. My step mom is that way aparently, having fun and enjoying snow days instead of cleaning 24/7 means I have zero responsibility. And a few other times she has been a complete bitch. She has tried to convince my dad to take my xbox/tv out of my room. But according to her, it's not really my room, since I dont pay bills and shit. But she trying to convince him again, but I doubt it will work.

And I don't really talk to my family either. At my house, we all keep to separate rooms. And never talk unless it's a question or two about dinner or other stuff like grades, car upkeep ect.

I'm sorry to hear that Soap, if you ever need someone to talk to I'm always here for you.

She also said a whole bunch about how I have a job and not once has she asked me to help out with anything. Not even with gas from all the times she picks me up and drops me off from work. Or that I don't help around the house at all.

Which is bull, cause there have been times I have asked if she needed anything and she always tells me "Not thanks I got it!"

Hell I offered to give her money to pay for half of our dogs 250 dollar surgery and she told me she didn't need it cause she paid it all up front.

So when I do offer my help she flat out says NO. Then yells at me later,

The strange thing was is she would let me inside to bathe and eat.

That sucks man, hopefully she reconsiders.

I don't think anything would make my parents kick me out, since they were doing a lot worse things than me when they were my age. I mean my mom found a shitload of paraphernalia of mine before and all she said was sorry for going through your stuff.

Nothing really, I think it was her sick way of saying "get the hell out". I had some pretty messed up parents.

Sorry Soap thats rough man. I don't know what to tell you really. I don't plan on stopping playing games at any time in the future. My GF loves them and I really don't care what most other people think.

I do hope that this just blows over man, I would hate for something to happen to damage the relationship with your mom. cause you gotta do what you love IMO

So I came home from work tonight, no one was home. So I started playing Dead Space 2. They come home an hour later, she doesn't say anything about it or whatever. Then 20 minutes later asks me to help feed the cats and check up on em since we just got all three of our cats baby makers removed. Then said goodnight, after she tried getting me to guess who returned to WWE this past Monday for about 20 minutes...

So I guess everything is going okay. But I hope it stays like this. Otherewise I might have to put in a transfer at work or change my hours, and move in with my friends parents. I hope it doesn't come to that cause I don't want to transfer cause I really enjoy the people I work with(although the fact that my Store Director of Operations is pretty fucking hot doesn't hurt the fact either).

Even if you think you do nothing wrong, people can find reasons to get angry, sometimes with reasons not related to you. When frustration reaches a boiling point, people tend to lash out, and with outstanding ,small details you become the most likely target.

There is a chance people will be like that as parents without even realizing it.

Sometimes its to establish a connection, but other times its venting.

Just be cool, make a plan (a good one) about your future and act on it. heck, I'm almost 20 and I just started night high school courses to prep for post secondary.
