How is cloning an Issue

I mean they may as well ban people from having Twins if they ban Clones

I mean unless your using it to Extend your Lifespan or Harvesting them for Organs then i dont see a problem with all but the most Extreme Religious Wackjobs

Actually it is a very sore subject for most people. Hell there was a whole new field invented just to study ethics around genetic engineering.

I don't see anything wrong with it. People get too worked up. I believe however rich people shouldn't be able to clone it should only be used for the medical field for organs or something similiar. The world would be too wrong it they let any random with money but clones.

Or we could mass an army of soldiers with with armor completely covering their bodies?

Actually, I'm against cloning. Just because if God wanted a copy of me, I'd be born a twin. A person is more than just the physical being, and creating a clone is just duplicating physical aspect. Nothing yet shows that memories or thoughts are are carried over. I'm a believer that science needs to know that there is a limit, and that they are getting very close to it.

I do realize that it will keep going, and I have the option to not participate, and as long as I have that option, it won't bother me.

Clones suck.

My army of clones are sterile, they have a weak immune system, and are prone to cancerous growths.

Also...live around 5 years.

I wouldn't mind growing some Lungs and Hearts in Vat and selling them though.

I don't see the need for it. Beyond possibly being able to harvest organs from it - and I don't know if I think this is right or not. You are creating a person (to some extent) and I don't think it is right to create a person merely to kill it by harvesting it's organs.

You can harvest organs from already dead people. I understand that demand is often higher than supply, but sometimes, people just have to die. Sounds callous, but... yeah. We are already over populated. Why create more of a population by cloning - especially in order to keep the already existent population going?

Cloning is pretty weird even if it's an animal... Now i imagine cloning as one thing walking into a machine and another copy appearing in the other machine but..

I am pretty sure they just inject genes into whatever they're trying to clone at a young age? But wouldn't it still have genes of it's own like it couldn't completely become the same thing?

I honestly feel that it is ok. I mean why does it matter since we are not making life. We have to implant the clone into someone. Though cloning humans is banned in almost every country because we are not able to iron out the the defects yet. And yes the clone would not have any memories just your exact genetic makeup.

I honestly see nothing wrong in it.

Any and every technological advance is a good thing, how unfortunate that break-throughs are used for the wrong reasons. I feel that whether potential for common good is realized or not has to nothing to do with the actual advance itself.

As for ethical dilemmas on creating a life in the vain of "playing God", I believe man created God, so such dilemmas are irrelevant in my opinion.
