I hate job hunting...

I'm either over-qualified or under-qualified for almost every job in existence. It's really awesome.

What's everyone up to this lovely Saturday morning? Maybe not so lovely since it's 32 degrees here, wtf!?

Job hunting can be a pain... however i'm not familiar with it as i've been at the same place for 10years now...

It's saturday i'm at work and on the SeC.... waiting for the day to get over with so i can enjoy the night out with my lady and see a comedian!

Yeah, it sucks. I've never had to job hunt very hard before, stuff usually just falls in my lap, even my current job (obviously because it sucks!). Moving back to a small town from Columbus makes it even harder, cause I'm used to having to sift through offers and choose one, and not worry about not getting and offer at all. It sucks

Bob Marley... not many people seem to know him.. he played the dumbass cop in the Boondock Saints movies. He's a comedian from Maine. Has a very thick accent which is funny because we're in NH and know exactly what he's talking about when he tells his jokes.

One of those you have to live here or know the people type stuff.

Good luck on the job hunting Mrs terry. I'm 28 and only on my 3rd job (1st full time). I fear looking for a new job even though i could make more money if i did find something...

Cool! That sounds like fun, haha. I miss doing that kind of stuff, the only downside to leaving the city -- nothing to do here

That's always nice to have something you can stay in that long. I'm on my fourth full-time job and my seventh job and I'm 22, haha! I've kept multiple jobs at one time though so they always seem to overlap, or it's been temporary stuff. Job market sucks.

Luckily i haven't sat idley by either i've been promoted 3 times since i've been here. Only cause i've persued advancing in the company... However i'm at a cap now... as the companies family owned and any type of store manager or even CEO stuff isn't gonna happen, unless i marry the Troll that is the bosses daughter...LMAO

btw I'm not in any big city myself. I live in a mainstreet town in east bum f**k New Hampshire, population (almost incest)... LOL just kidding. The population is small though only 5,000

You'd have to travel 35-40 minutes just to find a city of 50k or more.

And as for me, im about to head out and play me some hockey.

Yeah, we are only about a half hour from Youngstown so it's not too far from everything...but man I hate Youngstown, haha! Education jobs here are super scarce so I've been looking elsewhere and can't find much. Hoping to find a nanny position or something.

I don't think I've ever played hockey...it's my favorite sport to watch though!

Haven't done much job hunting either. Once I started putting out applications, I got called back from Subway pretty quick and hired on the spot (hey, my competition came to fill out her application and have her interview in sweat pants, idiot).

But I know how rough it can be. My dad was out of work for almost 3 years. He couldn't find work, or find job willing to pay him anything he found acceptable. Now he's finally accepted a part time job where the pay isn't acceptable, but at least he's working. And he has a beautiful resume and lots of experience.

huh. youngstown... my father lives near there. I can't remember the town though... I was there back last april, what a dumpy depressing place... (that's OHIO as a whole) I thought NH wasn't the greatest. but everything i saw there was either boarded up or shut down and rusting... guess that's why it's called the rust belt.

Yeah, everything here is shut down and boarded up. It's sad. No one can find jobs anywhere, I guess I'm lucky I have one at all, even if I hate it and it pays crap!

My dad is trying to get outta there. the job he does have pays well enough but he also works EVERY single day..

He's trying to get back to SE PA.

Last job he applied to in Maryland was the same situation as you. He was OVER qualified.

Yeah, that's the problem. When I get my Master's it will be different because I'm doing it in Nutrition and Dietitian jobs are everywhere, but Education jobs are so scarce now and I'm either over or under-qualified for every other job in the world it seems. It sucks

I see a lot of places hiring near me, and well I'm in SE PA. Don't know what your dad does, but you could let him know that I guess.

I was also in the same boat as you Mrs. Terry, jobs just kind of fell into my lap. Never really looked too hard for jobs. I'm currently way over-qualified for my job right now too, but I'm also not really trying too hard to look for a new job either. Kind of just biding my time until I get to move up into a different position rather than just look for a new job, go through training and all that crap.

I'm thinking Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course. It's near Harrisburg, which is like a hour drive for me.
