Ghost Rider

I only bring this one up simply because it's on TV now and I'm watching it. Horrible, horrible, horrible movie. I'm not a Nick Cage fan at all, but I think this has to be one of his worst movies ever! I wasn't a big Ghost Rider fan in general either, as he kind of bored me in the comics. Marvel Knights version was the best, but never made me a fan though. For those that have seen it though, I do have a question about the movie.

It's being shown as part of a day of "Super Hero Movies". They are showing all Marvel movies with behind the scenes of Thor being shown throughout.

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of it either. I saw it forever ago in theaters when it came out and it was meh.

Disappointing, though Eva Mendez made it worth watching a few times.

I love Blackheart in the comics. They completely fucked him up in this movie. That alone made it junk.

Anybody and everybody that had to do with movie should be burned alive at a stake.

I'm with Greg on this one. I watched it at a hotel one time because I was stuck there and had nothing better to do, and it's the only movie I've ever wanted my time back from watching. That hour and a half or two hours or whatever was the biggest waste of my time ever.

Nick Cage has done some good movies. I don't think he did a bad job as johnny blaze.

I liked Nic Cage in Lord of War and Adaptation. Outside of that though, I can't really think of too many movies he was good in.

Faceoff was good. 8mm too. The Rock was great as well

Forgot about Raising Arizona too.

It seems to me that most the time he acts exactly the same.

And sometimes that makes a good movie.

Lord of War, not bad.
Adaptation, okay.
9mm, great.

Everything else mentioned trash.

He lacks the facial muscles required to smile.

Iono, I'm with Greg on this one. After Ghost Rider, I will never be able to respect Nicolas Cage. It was just awful

I will agree that Nick is well past his prime with movies. 80s and 90s were the best time to watch him.


This Sorcerors apprentice type stuff is awful.

I'm being harsh with an open mind. I know movies aren't always perfect, nothing is for that matter, but I'd rather have something mediocre with jagged edges, than a polished piece of shit.

Most big buck films concerning adaptations are bad.

As for Cage...I simply don't like his face.
Not fair I know, but so be it. (not that the fact will stop me from watching a film with him that I may like).

I find I'm much more strict when it comes to movies, because of length and continuity.

Truth comes out. =) You don't have to find him sexy to like him.

Raising Arizona is a great movie. Cage has had his share of so-so movies, but I like him more often than I don't.

Alright, so there are a couple other movies that Cage was alright in, but majority of his movies are crap. I just think the man has no acting talent at all. Plus he was so obsessed with Elvis that he married the mans daughter just so he could have the ultimate collection. A bit creepy and weird if you ask me.

His personal life has no weight on his acting though. Most millionaires are weird. They can afford to be.

I don't think any comic fan will be happy with the comic movies. It's nearly impossible to please them. Myself included. Name a great comic adaptation. There aren't any.

I don't believe that means that there can't be.

They are entertaining. I dissagree with you MK. I enjoy these movies. Could they be better? Of course. EVERY movie could be better. In fact, most writers do not see their story on screen the way they write it.


Anyway, I think we are going to get nowhere fast in this conversation.

Don't get me wrong, I too enjoy many of these movies, just not all.

One Wolverine especially comes to mind...

There could be great comic book movies, but the problem lies in how to tell the story in only 3 hours or less. The biggest problem with using comics is how to tell the story so someone who has never read an issue of Spider Man will be comfortable with coming into the movie knowing nothing of the character, and still be able to follow along with what's happening.

It really makes me sad though that so many studios decided to just start buying up all kinds of rights to comic movies just to produce crap after crap. By no means am I one of those purist fan boys, but with some of these movies, they could have at least attempted to make it close to the lure that's going to be drawing the crowds into the theater in the first place. I mean you are targeting a certain crowd, then kind of slapping them in the face.
