Pretty sure this glitch applies to any vehicle. You can't damage vehicles if friendlies are in them but you can blow parts of them off. So if you keep blowing them up with friendlies it just makes the thing disappear except for the essentials of it to move.

Probably the same way as ghost boat works, friensd in the vehicle and then you put at mines on it and it blows it up, but still works.
