Yeah, I imagine it's pretty simple.

I'm not really crafty either, but I was able to convert my bass into a fretless. I just found some instructions online.

Look into make magazine (there's an online version, too) or instructables.com if you're actually interested. I'm sure someone has posted instructions for making one.
