What was yesterdays 360 update about?

I can't find any info on it. Did it add anything cool at all?

No clue it shut off and restarted my xbox 3x though!! then with my craptastic internet connection it took 10 mins to download the friggin update.

Ha! Try owning a PS3, the system updating for that thing is ridiculously stupid. Same thing goes for downloading games, demos etc... Much longer to download, then it needs to restart and install. God I hate that machine...


Found something on it. It makes the box work with XGD3 format.

Eh maybe i got it and just don't remember. And yeah i remember them talking about this and how some older 360's won't be capable of using this so they will replace them for free.

Hmmmm makes me wonder? i downloaded the update but never actually signed into live after doing so or for that matter put a game in.

I was gonna play but after waiting 15 mins i decided to go watch tv instead, so after the update finally finished i just turned off my console.

Maybe i'll get the error and they'll send me a new xbox with a bigger Hard Drive?!!! *crosses fingers.

does the update only affect launch consoles, as mine is an 07 version.

I haven't had the update yet either - I'd imagine they are rolling it out regionally (especially if they are expecting to deal with it messing up some consoles).

I'm sure they'll get to the UK soon, and the update is for everyone. No word on specifically what is causing some Xboxes to fail, but apparently it's not necessarily to do with their age.

Still, my old flatmate is using my really old Xbox (doesn't even have the hdmi out!), and I'm kinda hoping that bricks so I can get a brand new one to sell on

if i get a replacement i'll probably sell the one im using atm to my friend

Gotta love the mandatory security updates. And my internet is shitty as it is, so when updating it's painfully slow.

I can't wait for the security update once the PSN is back online in Mexico.

I... think it is. I've seen no announcement about it being back up, but I haven't turned my PS3 on for a while. I'll give it a try tomorrow, but as far as I know it's only online in the U.S.

Which by the way, I'm planning to get Little Big Planet and maybe that zombie arcade game (Dead Nation?) from the PS Store once that Sony program kicks off What about you guys, what games are you getting?

this one had no issues in testing.
