I would like to start watching anime. I used to but never episodes in order (fucking impossible on tv).
Im trying to get netflix but i want to finish naruto cause i watched the first half and stopped then the other "version" of it came out and i want to see that too.
Any other recommendations other than Bleach and Full Metal Alchemist? :l

Gantz if you like action and brutal violence.

A "realistic" mecha anime. Great show, really. One of the things I love most is spotting all the real life guns that appear in the show. I was pretty surprised to see the VSS featured.

haha that sounds sweet. is gundam worth looking at cause i used to love it but the new stuff doesnt look good.

I haven't watched Gundam since Gundam Wing. Honestly, I'm a horrible source for anime recommendations as I hate most of it.



But yeah, Gundam Wing is excellent! Very deep. I actually need to rewatch it now that I'm old enough to understand it, instead of watching for the GIANT ROBOTS AND EXPLOSIONS.

haha yes giant robot and explosions. I never watched anime for the story only the cool shit that would happen. but i want to understand it.

Anime with boobs sell like hotcakes in Japan, so most anime have it to make money.

Well i've watched a few animes on netflix and in no particular order...

Samurai 7
Blassreiter
Girls Bravo (Some boob in it but i found it to be pretty funny)

I've also just started Sengoku Basara samurai kings which is only a 13 episode anime, i am about halfway through it and think it's pretty good for such a short anime.

Gundam Unicorn is currently at episode 3 (took them a year to get that far), so I don't suggest that unless you really want to follow it.

Gundam 00 was good, better than Seed to many, but the older ones were very good as well.


I don't know if Netflix has undubbed stuff, but if they do (or if you can bear to stream) watch Gintama.

Gintama isn't on Netflix. Gintama is pretty unknown outside of Japan.

I've seen all Dragonball and Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT.

Dragonball Z is one of my favorite shows of all time.

I'm too lazy to search everything on netflix, but my favorites are:

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Really fucked up anime with mechs and heavy dark, religious, and psychological themes. Easily my favorite anime of all time.


Gantz - Action packed and also pretty fucked up. Violence and a little bit of sex are the main themes. The manga is better, but the anime is pretty cool.


Elfen Lied - More darkness and whatnot lol. Action packed and interesting. Lot's of blood.


Get Backers - People with special powers and skills beating the crap out of eachother. Very good. Lots of cool fight scenes and plenty of humor to boot.


FLCL - Heavy sexual themes (more based on the psychological and subtle aspect of it, like growing up) and lots of humor.


Ghost Stories - This show is all about the humor and it pulls it off well. Be sure to watch it in English though, it makes it so much funnier.


Golden Boy - Another show all about humor, but this is very heavy on sex related themes. In fact, every single episode is just about one guy trying his best to impress the girl of the episode.


I could name a lot more, but I'm trying my hardest not to go on a tangent >.>

I love NGE and FoolyCooly.

As a huge anime fan myself, I have some stuff you might like.

- Gurren Lagann - Giant mechas, and a show that oozes manliness. Yes.

- Afro Samurai - A short 5 ep. anime where Samuel L. Jackson stars as the main character, Ninja Ninja.

- Air Gear - The anime that got me into... well, anime. It's awesome, man.

- Black Lagoon - Beastly shoot-em-up with undercover nuns, drunks, and secret services. Definitely a pretty raw anime. A pretty excellent one, too.

- Cowboy Bebop - This is an anime that everybody needs to see. It's won a shitton of awards in Japan, and who doesn't love bounty hunters in space?

- Neon Genesis Evangelion - The classic. Sexy mechs, an awesome storyline, and a diverse cast make this show an oldie but goodie.

- Highschool of the Dead - So much fanservice, it's almost porn. However, underneath the blatant ecchi lies a pretty good story about a zombie apocalypse. I dig the art, and the nonstop gory action.

There you go, brother! I hope you find what you're looking for.

I don't recommend HotD. It's plagued by nonstop awful fanservice. It makes me rage.

Yeah I forgot about Cowboy Bebop, but that's not something you recommend for anime... that's something you recommend anyone looking for good TV in general.
