I got some Warhammer 40k

Bought my first things. Decided to go with getting the Assault on Black Beach, which the place I bought it at gave me 20% off. And it was originally priced $10 less in the first place. Hell of a deal. I also picked up some Space Wolf Grey and Goblin Green paint. Now I read.

You would be better off getting Warhammer 40k : Dark Crusade + Table Top Mod + Xfire. Just saying, I played the hell outta that game.

I have all the Dawn of Wars (The first game that is), and that's what got me into it.

I started collecting, funds got short, got Dawn of War and that was that. Although I dont regret my bad ass Space Wolf Company with Leman Russ tank one bit.

After I get the hang of the game, I'm going to go get me the Chaos Battleforce and pray to the Blood God Khorne.

Just got done filing and putting together my first piece. It's a Deffcopter. I don't want to put it on the stand yet cause I want to paint it.

Sweet. I couldn't find those extra templates though I know I have some somewhere. Still packed up somewhere I guess.

Black Reach is a nice value for what you get though not sure what you'll do with the minis. I bought a Black Reach set because I wanted an extra Tac squad and the terminators. If you decide you want to start an Ork army I'll make you a good deal on my extra orcs.

I agree with GM though I trust my loyal Astartes to get the job done versus the Guard. We will purge the Galaxy of the traiters!

I'm kinda talking my friend into playing. He's going to play Orks. I'm about to go out and get my paints. My (Chaos) Space Marines will be a dark orange with a dark yellow on the shoulder pads, and the trim will be a grey. I call my Chapter/Legion Fractured Flame. BTW. How do I get super glue off my skin?

Finger nail polish remover will take the super glue right off.


Interesting. HJave you read any of the backstory to Chaos at all? Just wondering if you gave any thought to your chapters history.

Well... Here's a quick summary.
The Fractured Flames were formed after seeing the Sisters in battle, seeing the effects of fire on heretics. They base their chapter around flames. But soon it became clear that the Chapter was infected by the taint as they have been seen to laugh maniacally as they burned their enemies alive. Something happens to make them Chaotic and go into the Eye of Terror. And they came out wanting to boil the blood of their enemies for Khorne because. "Why not drink blood hot?"

Pretty good backstory. I take it you plan on having a lot of flamers in your squads then?

I'll try and remeber to take some pics of my stuff. I don;t have much painted as after I got everything I got busy and have not been back to it.

Though if youve seen one Crimson fist you have seen them all I suppose.

I just drove 60 miles (3 trips) back and forth from the closest comic book shop because I kept forgetting paints. Now I have everything. I sprayed some grey krylon primer on, and in an hour or two, I will start painting.

Good news everyone. I got my friend very interested in this game. He'll play Orks for now. But one of these days, he's going to come over to paint with me. I am so happy right now.

Got my first one done. It's a Space Marine with Bolter. Took me about 9 hours to get done. Behold the Fractured Flame Chapter:

I used a light next to me to simulate a shadow and I painted that in. After all was done, I washed everything with Badab Black, but the yellow was washed with Devlan Mud. It was fun as hell to see it come to life from that grey primer. Can't wait to do the rest. Except for the Captain, he has a lot of detail and I think I may need micro brushes. The scheme is supposed to be Blazing Orange, Iyanden Darksun for the shoulders, and Codex Grey fo the trim.

By the way byased. How do you install the mods onto Dark Crusade again? I haven't installed a mod on that game in years and know there's a certain step I need to do to make it work. I think it involved unzipping the file to a certain location, or installing it somewhere special.
