Basically, they took Ubisoft's DRM of always-online to play. You can't and won't play Diablo 3 offline, unless you get a crack or get a pirated copy with said crack.

The real cash auction house is... well, I don't know what to think of it.



All in all, since the release of StarCraft 2, Blizzard is going down the shitter. They were like the sacred cow of gaming to me, but now? I'm not really expecting Diablo 3, and they probably just lost a sale.

The DRM, wtfno.

I actually doubt this DRM thing will end up in release. Anyone remember the RealID fiasco a while back? Yeah.

Doesn't starcraft 2 need you to be signed on all the time? I thought that was the main probablem a lot of people had with it. They wanted to set up LAN parties and shit but couldn't because of always having to sign on...or something.

Yes, that's StarCraft 2. It caused a lot of problems in some past tournaments because BattleNet went down.

Blizzard just got infected by Activision. It's all downhill from now on. I don't really give a shit about Diablo anymore, I MAY get the expansions to StarCraft 2 to see how it ends, though maybe that's not a good reason anyway because they took a big shit on the story in Wings of Liberty.

It's kinda sad to see them failing at such a constant rate, given that they were one of the best developers in gaming.

One of their PR guys even said he's "surprised" that people didn't expect this.

wow that's lame....what if somebody wanted to play offline or they're internet got cut off for whatever reason...I hate pompous companies that just assume shit.

It's basically a DRM. And we all know how good those are. The game will be hacked anyway, and the ones to suffer for this crap are the ones buying the game instead of pirating it.

There's no reason to have to log in to the internet for a single player game.

I'll be spending a majority of my time playing on Battle.net with my friends, though so...
