SYM, GREG, and all the death metal guys on the board....

I need your help.

I've been busy working with a friend promoting some local bands. Well, he books the shows, I review the bands, and do so interviews. Anyways, I need a second opinion about local death metal band. We, my buddy and I, like them but neither of us are big death metal guys, so I'm asking you guys, Sym and Greg mainly, to give me an opinion on them.

Well Ill give you my thoughts!

- They are a deathcore band 100%

-They sound ALOT like The Black Dahlia Murder

-Lead player has chops

- Dont like the vocalist at all

-I like the riffage

- Drums and bass are mediocre

- Overall I would say they are ok. Not bad by any means, as the guitar player is clearly very talented.


How are they live? Do all their songs follow a similar pattern as those two?

This is the band I think they sound very similar too.

For the most, they do have some different songs, but not by much. They were very good live, they sounded like they do recorded. Your not the only one who didn't like the vocalist, he not very popular around here. The rest of the band has another project with a different vocalist, I just can't remember the name.

Thats cool. They are solid musicians, but yea not a fan of the vocals.

Yeah this is definatly deathcore, not death metal. Either way, it's still pretty good and like Sym said, they sound like The Black Dahlia Murder(which I like). The only thing is get rid of the guy that's doing the clean vocals in the first song you posted, it's annoying when bands do that.
