Kids and guns can live safely together. I'm still alive and my dad has had a shit load of guns for as long as I can remember. But they were always kept put away in secure areas there was no way in hell I was getting into. Like safes. And then when I was big enough to have a brain, I was taught gun safety.

This is just parental ignorance, as it is with most cases of children shooting ___ whatever they end up shooting.
