I won't be on as much now since my laptop isn't working.

for somereason my laptop stopped working when I got home from a friend's house today. All my younger brothers "CLAIM" they didn't mess with it.
But essentially it won't start up. I turn it on, and the powerlight turns on. But the screen won't do anything at all. The only thing that changes to show that the laptop is even on is that the light that shows when the CAPS lock is on, just rapidly flashes. And it flashes until you turn off the laptop.

And its off warrenty, so I can't email Dell about it or nothing. The only thing I can do is call them, but I have to pay a stupid toll or fee for calling. And I will only do that if I can't fix it any other way.

How old is the laptop?

Sounds like the laptop died nothing you can do about it.

That really is the problem with laptops, after a few years they are pretty much likely to die. Cramming everything so close together and with the heat involved its not a recipe for reliability .

The onboard sound is messed up, so I have to put an external soundcard (usb) to make the sound work.

CPU's and GPU's bus is messed up, so I bypassed them through the currently non-functioning onboard's sound's bus through mixing up some driver references.

I don't know how much longer it will last.
