But... aren't they breaking order? I thought it was supposed to be B/W -> "Grey"(or whatever they'd name the 3rd game) -> Gen 3 remakes -> Gen 6

Dammit I want a gen 3 remake.

I was hoping for a Gen 3 remake too, but maybe the new games have something to do with Hoenn. If you look at the logos for the new games, you can see ruby and sapphire on the different logos:
