I hate all their cheesy fuckin product pushing they do "do you want to reserve ___ ,do you want the strategy guide for ____ (which I think is fucking stupid personally in an age of internet aka free guides) do you want insurance for ____" urgh.....what the fuck happened to just giving your money to the cashier and leaving......


they were actually ok back about 10 years ago, before they went all corporate, when they came to my town back when they had old school PS1 games and stuff,now,the place ain't worth goin to.Amazon is better. Plus no human herpa derp interaction. I swear they hire the bottom of the food chain there,and then they try to be a smartass with you -__-

edit: only good thing about em is the prepaid steam cards.....because honestly it was a major turn off for me to have to keep getting prepaid debit cards and shit to get stuff off steam lol

I love both the Gamestops in my area. I've made friends with quite a few of the employees there. I'm sure it's not the same in every location, but here the midnight releases are a ton of fun, and I've never had anyone try to push preorders or used games on me.

I can understand hating Gamestop as a corporation, but I see a lot of people take it out on the employees of the store which is wrong on so many levels. And wishing for the company to fail is wishing for a lot of people to lose their jobs.

They used to be a decent company till they started all the corporate product pushing,I forget when...maybe 2005 or so?idk. Back around 2002-03-04 they were pretty cool,and good god I went in there enough for the people to know me (I wish they would quit asking me for cheesy strategy guides lmao)

maybe I should of asked them if I can be put on an exempt list from asking me stuff Laughing

I've never been to a place in my life besides there with all the product pushing,just got annoying as hell after the millionth time,it's like really insulting to my intelligence.Doesn't the company think if I wanted a cheesy strategy guide that I'd just say I do and buy it without them pestering me?bleh............even crappy walmart never tried product pushing on me

They're trying to get that impulse buy out of people. Gotta maximize those profits. It's kind of akin to going up to every girl in the bar and asking them to sleep with you...you'll probably get a ton of no's but you're bound to eventually stumble upon a yes.

Yes it's annoying and intrusive, but they're pretty much forced to because each employee has a preorder quota and if they don't reach it, they can get fired.

But yeah, if you're in there enough to be recognized you can ask them to stop and they will.

Nicely put dude. The employees aren't at fault, and for the most part people who work at GameStop are pretty chill, it's just corporate policy that fucks the whole thing up.

When I sold lawn mowers I sold the cheaper models most of the times. I did this on purpose because I knew they were just as good as the over priced models. Management didnt like me, but my customers sure did.

I don't know, the one where I live seems to be pretty busy with moms who think it must be the best place to buy games and their kids who think it's the coolest store ever.
