it seems that when i use a mouse and keyboard i can only do power attacks
but when i plug in my xbox controller i cant use my favorites
wtf?

You probably fucked up your button mapping. Reset it to default.

it works fine with everything but skyrim
mount and blade, vindictus, portal i can still play all of them just fine

I dont know man, it sounds like either a mouse issue or a key binding issue somewhere along the lines.

ive been googling it since i posted the thread and will be offline in a couple minutes to test ante's theory, ive also turned off a couple mods that might'ev been the cause of the favorites problem

I would delete all the mods you installed since right before the problem happened.

it was a mod called Kontrol that made it to where if you hold down LB on a controller the buttons become hotkeys so that you still get the extra options of the pc world but on an xbox controller i'll tell the author mabey he can look into it
