Does it have some ridiculous difficulty requirements, like how pre-patched Diablo 3 was, that you need Act 3 gears to beat Act 2 in higher difficulty?

Honestly I have no idea yet

I just know my gear is not good enough for Veteran

Get one shotted constantly

But normal is stupidly easy

From what I've seen, the Normal/Nightmare/Hell/Inferno of Diablo 3 is Casual/Normal/Veteran/Elite in Torchlight, whereas the second playthrough only scales the levels of the enemies and doesn't necessarily raise the difficulty.

Much, much better system.

Oh, it appears you can "new game +" indefinitely, with the monsters capping out at level 120 while the player cap is only 100. Shit's gotta get tough there...

I actually re rolled another Beserker on normal

About to the end of Act 1 and haven't died once!

Only been close a few times
