92 MPH. Or thats what he said, I swear to god I wasn't going faster then 80, MAYBE 85.

But dammit. I was going 70 for the entire hour drive home, then some jerk gets in front of me and goes 55 for over 10 minutes. The lane next to me opens up, allowing me to pass him, I see another spot up ahead with no one in it, so I speed up to get to it. Not even 5 seconds go by and I see a cop to the side of the road.

I instantly slowed down, and started pulling over to the shoulder before he even began pulling on the freeway.

I swear though, I wasn't even speeding for more then 5-6 seconds, and that was just to get around someone. I've actually spent the past two months driving at the speed limit and rarely have I ever gone over it. But tonight, the one time I do to get around someoen, theres a cop.

He did act really surprised that I had already pulled over before he even got on the freeway to get behind me. I just told him "Yeah, well I know I was speeding and that you more then likely got me. No reason to put you at risk just to pull me over".

Cop was really cooll though. Said I seemed like an honest kid after I told him why I was speeding, and said it was rare for poeple to willingly pull over. But he was still going to write me up.
He was also really surprised that I shut my engine off, and put my keys on the roof. For somereason that really surprised him.

It happens

I get alot of tickets

But I drive fast so meh

Edit- you put the keys on the roof? Why?

Pariah

Pariah

Yeah, I'm confused on that. Why put your keys on the roof?

I don't know to be honest. Just kind of something that was instilled in me as a kid.
My mom and grandparents always told me that it makes the officer feel safer if they see you do that, that way they won't have to worry about you taking off or trying to hit them or something.

I honestly DON'T know why I did, but I did. He was surprised I did though.

Yeah I've never heard of anyone ever doing that.

Probably a good idea to do if you're in the hood. It is not fun at all dealing with cops in a bad neighborhood, they aren't exactly friendly there.

What was the speed limit? 70?

Interesting

I'm always a dick to the cops

Its never gotten me into trouble yet

Well to me what happened to you happens. The more years you have on the road the more likely BS is like that to happen. Ive gotten tickets just for what you have before, its sucks.

He was surprised because he has probably never seen somebody do that before haha.

The speed limit is 65 here, but the traffic always goes 70. I've driven past many a CHP going 70 and they've never done anything. They don't look for people going 5 MPH over, they look for the ones they can get a lot of money out of.

But seriously, fucking sucks. I used to talk on here about how fast I used to drive all the time, and how my truck engine would temporaily stall if I hit 110.
Well literalyl since August I realized how stupid it was, and started driving at the speed limit. But tonight, one of the first few times I speed just to get around someone, there is a cop there.

i almost head on collided with a cop once because I was new to the whole driving thing and was on a one way street. Told me gf in the passenger seat to flirt with him and I got a warning.

I should have a lot more tickets than what I currently do. Never drive through Virginia as they look for people going 1 MPH over the speed limit.

That blows soap. But good on you for driving mostly responsibly. And how you behaved. I hate a lot of cops, but when they pull you over I think being polite is the easy way to go.

I was coming home last night around 2 (city curfew for minors is 12 I think). On a red light, cop pulls up right next to me, looks across and nods. I was sure he was gonna pull me over if I gave him an excuse.

Should have revved your engine at him. Maybe he wanted to race....

I always stare cops down while flipping them off when they pull beside me.

They find it suspicious when you avoid eye contact, so I figure doing the exact opposite is the best course of action.

Wait what, there's a curfew where you live? That just sounds really weird to me for some reason.

theres been one in Kansas City too for a while, but I dont think there have ever been any arrests from it. I think its more just an excuse to pull kids over that look like they have alcohol/weed in their car.

Yeah. Up until 18 there's a curfew, then another "soft curfew" after that. Its plainly retarded.

You're not allowed to walk the streets with more than one other person after 11pm here.

The curfew law up here was 10pm. I don't know if it passed or not but i am pretty sure it did..

Yeah theres been a curfew in my area for years, under 18 your not allowed out past 12 unless you aer with someone who is 18 or older.

I've almost gotten in trouble many a time for going to midnight premieres at my theatre.
But I always went with my friend(who had a car at the time)who was over 20 years old.

According to Google there is a curfew in Suffolk county. If you're 17 you're not allowed out past 11.

lmao

Weird that only 17 year olds get a curfew and not any other ages.

JrTapia1991

JrTapia1991

there's supposedly been a curfew here for awhile for people under 17 (since you're considered an adult here in Tx. at 17) , I think it's either 10pm or might be midnight. idk.

but I've never heard of them getting anybody because of it

not like it would even matter to me though since I'm older.

not that I'd WANT to be walking around this ghetto city at that time of night either >___>

Captain Pirate Pineapple

There are curfews in most states for those 17 and under simply because you are still considered a minor. Not only that, but at that age you're still most likely in school (with the exception of Summer time), so that factors into the whole curfew thing too. Times most like vary in different states/counties.

The Adli Corporation

you guys have curfews?

wow, that must suck.
