That unstoppable rumor mill has started grinding back into life again today, with reports emerging concerning the next-generation Xbox. Xbox 720, Durango, Orangutan, whatever you want to call it, is apparently referred to internally at Microsoft as 'Kryptos' according to inside sources reporting to a site oddly called SemiAccurate. Hmm...
The site also reports that Microsoft’s next console will run on an AMD chip codenamed ‘Oban’, which was supposedly scheduled to go into mass production at the end of 2012. Or now-ish. Apparently, problems with the chip’s manufacturing have delayed production, with a source describing the quality of the component as ‘painfully low’.
