decided to pretest the new site with approximate mock traffic to see how much id be paying a month for the VPS.

$65-85 a month is a little steep for my blood.
So Ive decided that ill try and improve what i can here, and if we can get posting and members up by our anniversary, ill bring it up for debate again.

That seems really expensive considering the size of this site. What hosting site were you considering? I have heard a lot of good things about ramnode and they are quite cheap.

i use dreamhost, its free for shared hosting, but a VPS get a bit pricey, i was paying close to 40 for .net back in the day.

its mostly all about keeping load times fast.

Yeah I wouldn't expect you to do that Epyk. I'm not too concerned if we end up staying here. Load times on pics and such are a slight inconvenience but nothing I'm not prepared to handle.

Im confused as to why exactly the pics dont load here. Isnt putting a url in [img] tags just sourcing the image from another site? It doesnt seem like it should really matter how fast sec.com is running.

This is probably a really stupid observation, as I hardly know shit about web design.
