[BF3] After a long ass hiatus, I'm back to popping heads

I took a....I don't remember how long, hiatus from BF3, now I'm finally getting back into the game and enjoying the fact that despite my long "break" from the game, my sniping/recon skills have not diminished. Interestingly enough, I've improved, I noticed a distinct improvement in terms of me being able to gauge and lead moving targets that are running across the map now.

Funny how that improved by simply using the x12 instead of the x8 that I usually use (Better FOV while using the x8 IMO)

Anyway, is there anyone here that still plays? Wouldn't mind jumping in with some SEC members sometime in the near future

I think sym still plays. And I might depending on when I get a GPU for my PC.

I just got the base bf3 game awhile back but I'm probably the worst person ever with keyboard and mouse,I'd have to play with xbox controller lol

Keep trying Jr, it gets a lot better. I'm a million times more precise and accurate with K/M than an xbox controller.

Yeah, not to sound stuck up or anything, but I feel playing with a K/B and Mouse takes a whole lot more skill in terms of having good hand eye coordination than that of a controller. However, once you get used to it, you'll be amazed at how much your skills will have improved.

Take it slow, move more cautiously and be more tactical, the PC world of BF3 is pretty brutal to those new to it IMO. Part of this I think is due to the fact that a good majority of the players tend to be older (late teens, early to mid twenties?), granted we have our fair share of idiots, but the learning curve and average skill level of the players is much higher than those you find on consoles.

Just my opinion of course.

This. Controller might be a lot more smooth for some games, but if you're fighting people using a keyboard/mouse on PC, you're going to lose every time to somebody of an equal or higher skill level than you.

its kinda funny, i felt so powerfulafter playing Planetside 2 and going to Battlefield. the recoil in that game is so weak compared to TR guns in Planetside. if you can hit people at range with a TRAC-5 in Planetside then you're basically playing COD when you go to Battlefield

How is Planetside now?
All I heard about was how glitchey and not-good it ran when it came out. Has it been fixed and all is good now?

i dunno, i played it a few days ago but mainly pissed around in VR Training to check out the new stuff.

its really hard to run, in the massive fights (which is basically the entire point of playing Planetside 2) i get about 20 FPS and people render (appear) 5m in front of me because there are just too many people involved.

its really fun when it works and everything renders fine, but once things dont render i just quit.

Eesh... sounds like it's still bad then. Bummer.
The idea is cool.

yeah it has issues. i'd be fine with the 30ish FPS, but when you cant see people 10m in front of you its just really really unplayable.

if i had a PC that could handle it... it would probably be awesome, but its really demanding sadly.

Honestly, I found the recoil in Planetside to be pretty pathetic, pretty much non-existant IMO (Yes I played NC and TR)

Maybe it's just me, but recoil never really bothered me. I don't even think about it, I naturally compensate for it anyway so maybe that's why.

At any rate, I like PS2 but without a party to play with, it's not very fun IMO. Cool idea, but a lot of problems in the game at this time IMO. Hopefully they'll sort them all out later (Some hardball looks at optimization would be very nice)

well it feels a lot heavier than the recoil in BF3 to me

and yeah, solo play sucks. the outfit im in has basically given up, myself included.

Ive still only put 4 hours into PL2

I love the concept, but like you guys, I cant stand playing alone.
