If this actually happens, many hardcore console gamers will be forced to buy sofa tray or play on desk if they want to be any competitive. LoL

OR autoaim will be improved greatly for pad users.

Yea the pad users will get worked horribly

Theres a reason why console gamers cannot play against PC gamers, anyone good with a mouse will slughter a pad gamer before they blink

Yeah, I saw this yesterday.

I'm pretty unhappy about this rumor. If they actually give the PS4 version the option to use Kbm, then I simply won't buy that version. I'll get the X1 version instead. If both console versions get Kbm support then, as much as I love BF and BF4 is my #1 most wanted game, I probably won't buy it.

Making it an "option" for PS4 isn't really an option as I would be forced to use Kbm to be competitive.

If I wanted to play that way I'd already be playing it on PC. In fact not having to use Kbm is one of the biggest reasons I prefer consoles to PC.

This makes me want to punch a baby.

even if this does happen, i'm willing to bet there will be a server option to only allow one or the other.

I just cant imagine wanting to play a competitive FPS with a pad

Also reminds me of my days when I used to play fighter plane sims, there was no way you could compete without a desent flight stick / yolk + a keyboard.. damn the desk got pretty full. Trying to play with just a keyboard and mouse just didnt cut it.

Also like driving games, practically impossible without a wheel on a PC (console gamers wouldnt have a problem because the pads are pressure sensitive, keyboards aint)

Simple. I like to sit back on the couch/chair and relax when I play. I want to be comfortable. I want to be able to rest my arms or set the controller in my lap.

I don't want to have to play at some type of table or flat surface. I don't want to have to lean over. I don't want to have to sacrifice my comfort or enjoyment to play a game.

Yeah I wouldn't agree with this decision. It would just be cruel for the people who buy consoles for the sake of couch gaming.

Dont think it will happen, its main reason as i said before, why consoles and PC cannot play each other... It would be quite simple to connect xbox live or PSN to PC server and vise versa, they just wont.

having said that (Ive not had a console since PS2) but I'm damn sure you could get keyboards and mice back then and use them in anygame instead of the pad

I doubt it, the ones with controllers would get butt fucked by the K+M users making the game.

i've never considered myself uncomfortable playing BF3 in my computer chair. i actually play noticeably worse if i'm sitting back in a relaxed position.

I prefer controller myself but it feels very weird on pc without auto aim on fps like bf3 so I'm like forced to use mouse/keyboard. I like to sit back and relax too

I played competitive CoD4 for a few months with gamepad....granted everyone used the MP5SSD or M16.... but it was still fun... untill my group of people split because of a fight...I was sad but meh...

Yes but were you playing other people with pads?

you also have to consider CoD has recoil patterns aimed at controller use, BF (excluding Bad Company) has recoil patterns aimed at KB/M.

Yeah I find this is true for me too. if I lay back it's like I'm not as aware or focused.

It might be too much of a generalization, but I think most people play in non-relaxed posture when playing competitively. Even when playing on couch with a controller, people tend to lean forward in a much less relaxed posture to be focused.

I sit Indian style when I go into maximum overdrive.
