Time to venture into the unknown.

Never have I played a melee character before in Fallout games, but I am having fun punching people with Displacer(?) Glove, with nice fancy Gauss Rifle blast effect (LoL).

Now, how relevant / important is it for me to put points into any other combat skills, other than Unarmed and Melee?

Also, I'm thinking about putting Heavy Handed and Built to destroy as a trait, but should I invest in Finesse, Better Critical, and Luck? Thinking about getting Finesse and Better Critical, but going with default 5 Luck.

Also, Suggestion for SPECIAL would be nice too.

At the moment I am thinking

S 8
P 5
E 8
C 1
I 5/6
A 8
L 4/5
Have not set myself for Int and Luk.

EDIT: Probably would be going with 5 & 5 Int and Luk since I am thinking of getting Better Critical

With Heavy Handed most things are going to die anyway.

I guess I should not put in too much thoughts into this one.

Maybe I'm just trying too hard to create way too much of an optimized character, instead of enjoying the whacky'ness of whacking things.

Planned perks

2 CB or BW Probably BW since I want to make one female character for once
4 Educated
6 Toughness
8 Stone Wall
10 Super Slam
12 Piercing
14 Unstoppable Force
16 Strong Back Debating
18 Paralyzing Palm Strike
20 Ninja
22 Silent Run
24 Slayer
26 Finesse
28 Better Critical
30 Toughness 2
What you guys think?

EDIT: I guess it is going to be my first character to not have Bloody Mess Perk. Which I'm not too sure whether it is a good move or not, since 5% addition of damage to all weapons. Hmmm....

Changed my mind, well more like tweaking. Will go with this one for now.

Going to create Light Armour maining (Chinese Stealth Armour, but will have to put on heavy one if necessary) Kunoichi (Female Ninja). I wonder how fast I will be able to close into the unsuspecting victim to deliver silent kill, with 10 AGI (with implant) and travel light perk, assisted by high sneak and silent running. LoL

I am really split about using Heavy Handed, at the moment.

I have already created a character as I proposed above, and working fine, but when I think about how my character is going to get finesse, ninja, and better critical, I think I might be limiting my character.

Heavy Handed needs nothing but Heavy Handed! Like my 1st guy Dick Mason. His melee was CRAP! yet I was punching heads off left and right.

Dick Mason thinks a projectile attack is punching somebody into somebody else.

For now, I am just going to continue with the character and see.

Just not sure whether planning out to take Finesse, Ninja, and Better Critical was a good idea with heavy handed.

Kind of wanted to make stealthy assassin type of character, but if the penalty of -60% critical would hinder greatly on sneak attack critical with melee/unarmed, then it would just ruin that aspect.

..............Umm...........Them dying will still be the result.

StormEye

StormEye

Oh well.

Lets see what happens at the end.

I presume most targets (humans at least) would still die regardless anyway.

Think of the better crits as a bonus when you chuck a Throwing Knife into some guy's skull.

That just gave me a good LoL.

StormEye

Darn it!

I could not move away from Jury Rigging, even with this character. The perk is too OP to skip. Will be replacing my Toughness level 2 for it.

If I decide to make another CQC/Ninja character, I probably would avoid paralyzing palm...

Just realized it is just better to punch/slash away at the enemies with Slayer perk, with Super Slam which procs often enough and works both in and out of VATS, is much more efficient.

Also, it is said that Shishkebab is the best melee weapon, if combined with pyro perk. So maybe Paralyzing palm should had been replaced with Pyro perk.

The quest for perfection is a madening one is it not.

It has driven me nuts.
