I hope China and Russia won't join NK and fight against US,SK and maybe EU...

Ladies and gentlemen... World War III is just about to begin.

I doubt Russia would join in. They seem past the whole "kill America" thing. China is a very big possibility especially if they decide they want their money back if you catch my drift. Im pretty sure EU would have no problem joining in. Especially the big players like the UK France and Germany.

Although I doubt fighting NK would be any major deal as long as there arnt any nukes involved (which there are but if they decide to not use them is what Im talking about). If it was more or less conventional weapons I dont think many soldiers in NK would stick around too long. However this could make China decide to stand up and that would be very bad.

I hope there isn't a world war III >.< Or I will go mad at the North Koreans for being land hoars and the only people with decent housing is the military but the rest of the country has next to nothing.

Knowing how stupid people are this could actually start WW3.

Russia won't do jack for NK, and likely will help the West corner them. China is basically Russia, but a few years earlier, so they might not do anything at all (considering the amount of national exchange between them and the West). If that happens, NK is surrounded on all sides, and the situation would fizzle like *snap* that.

The way I see it, NK is the paranoid kid with a switch-blade that everyone notices is unstable, even former friends (who are now on the road to accepting the norms of the neighborhood).

Thats a pretty good analogy.

But we can only hope that people on both sides are as smart and thoughtful as Kennedy and Khrushchev during the Cuban missile crisis.

In history class when we were learning about that, some dumbass said "why didnt we just nuke'em?" and Im like

I'd really like to think the human race is above ending the world by it's own hands. I doubt a full scale war develops out of this, much less WWIII. However, if NK really does fly off the handle it could be very very bad.

Mutually assured destruction...

Well honestly just with NK, they wouldnt be able to do a TON of damage to the mainland US. One I dont think they have the missiles capable of going this far. and 2 they dont even have enough nukes more than likely. However....I doubt much of the Korean peninsula would be left...

SK shouldn't have been "testing" weapons so close to the NK border. That was a stupid move considering how trigger happy Kim jong-il is.

Will this insight war?

Russia's already condemned NK's actions and China seems to be playing Sweden. If a war broke out, Seoul would probably get WTFPWNed by the NK Artillery but then NK would be obliterated completely by the SK/US military. I don't think NK wants an actual war. They just want to posture.

China has trade intrests in both North and SOuth Korea so I doubt that they are going to be to keen on going to war with North Korea. I hope North Korea does push this shit then we can go in with the South and take out Kim Jong and his cronnies and get rid of any nuc plants. If that man does get a nuc that is when the world is in trouble.

NK is too well known for being a nation with hostile intentions. We will never allow them to have nukes. We'd bomb the crap out of anything that looked like a nuclear facility making missiles. Or the more subtle sabotage missions... Made to look like an accident.

Maybe Derp. THat's a tricky area of the world for us with China to the North, and Russia not so far away. Russia may have cooled on us some but they are n ot our friends. ANytime they, as well as China can stick it to us they will. With the debacle in the Middle East we may not be in a position to just stroll in North Korea like we could have 8 years ago. We will see what happens I don;t honestly keep up with a lot of news in that neck of the woods but Kim Jong with nics would be a scary thing to go to bed to.

We currently have 17,000 us troops stationed in South Korea. As stated in the news article. I'm sure some of those guys aren't all just grunts! It's possible theres some seals or other covert groups stationed there.

Scary to think this whole thing could be the beginning of the end? No

I'm sure that we have a fair amount of firepower in SK.... I had some guya at Ft Knox tell me that a lot of the guys there are tech guys though so I wouldn;t think that all those troops would be ready to invade.

Another scary thing to think about is that the people of North Korea really do LOVE kim jong and treat him like a god. I am sure the people would all gladly join the ranks to repell the eveil American devils. I was watching this National Geogrphic special where a news team snuck in with this eye doc that perform cataracs sugery on people and the people started crying when they could see and where praising the gift of getting their site back to Kim Jong. It was really eerie to see. They are so shut of from the rest of the world that they have no clue what was going on. I also read somewhere that the majority of the population don;t even realize that a human has walked on the moon.

North Korea has stated before they're waiting for a hostile invasion from the US, which they see as inevitable for some reason. The US actually estimates they have at least 8 nukes somewhere, and they've just finished building a very modern plutonium harvester.

From what I've heard, if North Korea continues to get cocky they might destroy their relationship with China. By doing that, we probably WILL invade. China is one of the reasons why we're sitting on our asses if I read somewhere correctly.

I'm sure China will back out once North Korea gets a bit extremem (nukes or all out attack). Anything can happen though.

Guess it's time for me to move. Maybe Texas?

In the end it comes down to one thing and the one thing that matters,

Money.

NK hopes all rest on China. NK is around based on the old beilef in Buffer Zones. WW2 was caused by people wanting Buffer Zones. The USSR was just Russia using everybody elese as a meat sheid. So it comes down to China thinking it can or can't do buisness as normal with North Korea around.

Too much politics and money come in to play too. China needs us (because where else would they sell there shitty lead infested toys?), and we need China (where else would we get our cheap shitty lead infested stuff?).

NK being an ally of China causes problems, but it really does look like NK is testing the water. The more they startle the water though something is gonna snack em up.

Also our Air Superiority is second to none, and NK's country is malnourished. Even if they invade our country the amount of armed civilians would be enough to make a stand against them.

I just hope it never gets to that point.

*Also we owe huge chunks of cash to China.

Beating North Korea in a war would be like nothing more than smashing a rather obnoxious bug. The only, if any, tiny problem, is if Russia and China get involved, and we still have the power and technology to obliterate them back into the stone age. I doubt even Russia/China would even want to help North Korea, if anybody. I feel very sorry for the civilians there, as their government spends more money on trying to buy/create weapons that will probably never be that useful to them, instead of feeding their own people and caring for them. It would be amazing if a country could liberate and reunite the Koreas, but I doubt that would happen.

It's not even a question of military might, but rather politics and postwar outcomes (i.e. economy).

I hate politics and economy; I wish politics meant jackshit, which they should. Honestly, the US currently has the power to tell any country in the world that they want everything they have, and get away with it, but instead, they're worried what other people think. The only way we'd stand any chance of losing, is if every country attacked simultaneously, and unexpectedly; with our air and naval power, we can control an entire continent with only a few units, but we're afraid that other countries will cry if North Korea gets put in it's place.

What should've been done, is when North Korea said that they would launch missiles, and we said no, we should've blockaded their country with carriers and battleships, and not let them have any resources, and starve them out under siege, and gave up their missile, then they could go free. If they launched it, we should've demonstrated our power to them by doing something like annihilating a city/port with something sub-par, and tell them, "This is not even a portion of our power, don't fuck with us. Stand down, or we will use all of it." If they didn't step down, too bad, but I'm pretty sure that they would've stepped down, because not even a power hungry leader would like to see the only thing that means anything to them obliterated in minutes in front of their very eyes.

Well, why do you think I'm a not the leader of a country? Lol.

I think there is someway they could do it; I've been told that there are ways they can do it, in addition to the fact that they probably could plan a sneak attack on the silo(s), and simply take them before they could launch the missiles. Also, the way North Koreas last rocket test went, I don't think we have to be afraid of anything. xD

We probably don't have anything to fear, but we don't want them nuking South Korea or any other Asian countries. I doubt anything's going to happen anyway. Soon enough North Korea is going to have to open up to the world and realize the way they're trying to live isn't really working.

They're causing a lot of problems for the rest of the world though, and I, quite frankly, would think they deserve anything that's coming to them. The only thing I feel sorry for is the innocent civilians. I feel bad either way though, whether they get caught in the middle of a war, or stuck with their current leaders and governement. If we send an aircraft carrier somewhere it's considered a "show of force" Yes an aircraft carrier carries something like 4 squads of fighters plus all of its support, and I don;t think its "public" knowledge but I would imagine there would be a few seal or two floating around as well. I wonder what carrier strike force they sent.

I'm sure they sent some kinda BIG DICK force... to prove a point of don't fuck with us.

Usually though an aircraft carrier is accompanied by 2 battleships and 2 cruisers. So maybe we just sent some cruisers and maybe a battleship.

Either way NK's navy is 3 times larger than SK's. NK alone has like 88 submarines and sk has maybe 13.
