HAHA Yes a Carrier Strike force it the US's Big Dick that they can wave around saying don't fuck with us!!!

Also not trying to be a dick but Battleships are obsolete, a carrier strike force typically consists of well an aircraft carrier, and several ships that consists, of one or two destroyers, misslesboats, frigates, and one or two submarines.

I was basing my knowledge on 1990's era stuff... and my military lingo is limited..

So we probably only sent over some small destroyers than?

That's cool. In my spare time I'm a dork and read all kinds aof shit about our military. SO I was just trying to be helpfull versus being a corective dick.

Destroyers are pretty kick ass boats! They can carry some awesome firepower.

Apparently China is almost finished developing cruise missiles that can hit moving aircraft carriers, have a bunch of fighter jets remodeled to be UAVs in disguise, and bought a bunch of diesel stealth subs from Russia.

Combine all of that into an ambush, and GG aircraft carrier. Once you get a fleet of UAV jets, a fleet of real jets, cruise missiles, AND torpedoes aimed at an aircraft carrier at the same time, it's going down.

Aircraft carriers do have defenses against missiles. Not to mention, the aircraft carrier has 80 aircraft ready to be launched at a moment's notice and a massive sensor range. It's not like it's a sitting duck.

MMmmm maybe........... First I wouldn;t bet on NK technology against ours, as well as some of those luittle boats around the carrier have missles designed to intercept those missles coming at our carrier, the carrier has missles to intercept those missles as well as some other "interesting things" I have seen developed when I was at Ratheon. I would bet oun our subs intercepting and destroying thos diesels subs any day of the week.

NK may have built up their fleet but my money is still on ours!

Not NK, China. There was one of the pentagon's analysis things in Popular Science about how China trying to retake Taiwan would go.

HA I don;t think I loose. I would bet on our Navy over any other country even if CHina has all this new firepower. That was only three carriers and their support. We have 11 carrier Battle groups in our arsenal! 11!

Lol, pretty much. An aircraft carrier is a ridiculous battle station. Even one is enough to control some countries. 3 deployed, plus anymore of our other tech means somebody is going to lose, and it's not us, lol. As I said, we have the power to control the world, whenever, and wherever we please, if we wish.

My bad I was just talking to someone here that deals with the Navy and he told me that we have 13 carriers with one under construction.

13!!!!! of these bastards! China may be a vast country with a ton of resources, and manpower but I think if we REALLY wanted to then we would own the air and sea.

Not going to happen though because the US and China economies are reliant upon each other.

Not really... throw nukes into any situation and we'll back down. It's not worth losing New York or any other cities to show off our military pen0r.

But yeah, China will soon have the capabilities to beat at least one carrier with a combination of jets, LOTS of cruise missiles, and lots of stealth torpedoes. You can only shoot down so many of those things at a time. But they don't have infinite resources, if we brought all of our power to bear on china we'd definitely win, but the point of that analyses was to show that China could hold off and disable the Nimitz class Kennedy Carrier long enough to take over Taiwan, so if they really wanted to they could do the same for NK.

Not sure what they'd do from there, but the point if our carriers aren't as invincible as we'd like to think. After all we've only been fighting rag tag bunches of insurgents and have had a tough enough time with that.

MMm again maybe they could take out 1 carrier but I dount 13. Also I doubt that popular Science knows about all of a carriers defenses. It's not like we are going to print a manual and say hey world here is what we got to beat what you got.

Tho a speed boat did put a hole in the side of one of our ships once so.......

As far a fighting rag tag insurgents and having a tuff time actually no the Navy has dominated air, and sea space..... its the ground war that has given us trouble.

We've only dominated the air and sea because the insurgents don't exactly have jets. We don't necesarily know how the situation would turn our versus a competent and organized country armed with more than ak47s and rocks.

We have more nukes than any other country could possilby dream of, as well as ways to shut down ICBMs in flight, or destroy them Combine that with the reason why nobody has an airforce, the fact that we don't let them, and there's a reason why we're top dog of the world. Nobody fucks with us, because they know that they'll lose. We have both a decent amount of numbers AND powerful tech. No other country in the world stands a chance against us. Maybe China/Russia, but barely, if at all. Most of their tech is outdated, they're starving and depend on us for food and supplies, and much of their tech isn't up to snuff. It would be completely stupid to attack us.

I forget not everyone here came from PC gaming. gg means good game, which is what everyone traditionally types in the chat after a match ends. So, when you posted the pic of the aircraft carriers with the B2 flying in the middle, I was saying it was called "gg" because we'd already won. Sorry for the confusion.

If nucs where not a factor, and it was just head to head China's Navy, vs US Navy then the US Navy has a bigger inventory of ships, as well as the technology is more up to date with better armaments. The US Navy is going to come out the victor no matter how many scenarios you want to run.

The problem is there are too many factors to consider to really determine who if any would be the victor. O well interesting discusion I'm out for the day.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Yea today I'd bet on the US Navy eveytime!

Out for realz this time.

The only reason we're having "trouble" with the ground war is because we don't have a clearly defined enemy. Look at the initial invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. We besmirched the shit out of their standing armies. They didn't have a snowball's chance in hell. The only reason we have "trouble" now is because the terrorists are being a bunch of pansy cowards who won't actually fight a war.

You have a great thanksgiving too.

And pretty much what blackhole said, is why we haven't utterly destroyed our enemy in the last war. They aren't a real enemy, they're just a bunch of people who dress like civilians, and attack at random almost. It's an impossible war to win, unless you plan on killing ever last man, woman, and child in a country, which is not exactly the right thing to do.

Chinas having an economic boom at the moment actually, regardless of the fact that it has pretty low standard of living. They can afford plenty of stuff. In fact, the US cannot afford the army it has. Half of the damn budget goes towards flexing our military muscles with money borrowed from China. If we pulled out of every nook in cranny in the world and stopped pouring everything into our navy and army we'd end up with a federal surplus on the budget in a second. Not to mention most of the terrorists threats and countries that hate us only hate us BECAUSE we're sticking our noses in everyone else's business.

It's a nice thought to enforce freedom and peace throughout the world, but the US just can't afford it anymore. Our healthcare system is collapsing, social security is about to ****ed, we've got 10% unemployment which no one seems to be able to fix, and all of our tax dollars are going towards renting an army from China to try to stop a 1,000 year old religious war in the middle east.

What. the. fuck.

No other country has our military power because other countries aren't stupid enough to go into 13 trillion worth of debt to obtain it.

I hope North Korea bombs South Korea or another country some more (Not with nukes, of course!). Then we'll have a very good reason to go to war with them, instead of these little bombings and small shootouts. North Korea has been a very annoying country, and it would be good to finally stop them.

Please go easy on my stupidity, I'm only 14, and they don't teach world history to us until we're Juniors in High School.

Well, they already kill people occasionally, like how they (well, no one's completely sure what happened, but I think it was North Korea) blew up that ship a few months ago, and the artillery killed four(?) people so far. I'm pretty bad at making arguments, aren't I?

He's got a point. I'd like an excuse for us to go in and royally **** up North Korea instead of waiting for them to do something stupid like nuke someone, which would be much worse than them bombing someone conventionally.

And don't doubt we could do it. America was so tired of WW2 by the time the Korean war started that we practically didn't even have an army, bit of a different story now.

Actually, I think that the US army was very built up after WWII

They just didnt want to get into another world war with russia and china.

Thats probably again part of the reason why we'd be hesitant to invade north korea today
