Yes the Patch is free and maps (when they come out) are free to VIP players.

Vietnam will be $15 bucks though.

EDIT: Holy hell this update is taking a long time to download. Normally I can grab a gig every few minutes on my connection but after 5 minutes I'm still at 5%...

Map Pack 7 comes tomorrow. This update is substantial as its adding Vietnam too ._.


Hopefully that means we'll get Vietnam before the 21st, though I'd like to play Vanilla more to fool around with the new patch/maps.

Yeah I have Comcast and have my 360 connected Wireless N.

We keep talking about switching but her son is the one paying the bill!!!

Things I've noticed so far...

I got killed by an AN-94 once early on, didn't see one the rest of my play time.

Buckshot is much more consistent now. You won't be sniping people with it, but any shots I made in range resulted in a heaping pile of dead soldier.

The AT4 is almost too fast now. I feel this is connection based because when I was laggy the rocket seemed to have a mind of it's own but when the lag cleared up it was much better. I also saw plenty of choppers get their wings clipped by AT4's.

M60? Who cares, it was fine before the patch.

I got killed by RDS G3 wielding wookies the most, -easily-. Dunno why, but I have a feeling that's going to be a new favorite for randoms.

M14 with ACOG is good for midrange fights, not much else. However, for those midrange fights it is excellent.

Oh and the Gustav was giving me hitmarkers left and right. Makes me sad, but it's probably for the best lol.

Yes. It has all the new maps and 'Nam in it. You just to buy them to access them.
