Ok so my Dad is buying the family a new HDTV.... So what do I need to run my xbox on this in HD? Do I just replace my AV cables with what???

Maybe, I would check the box or the back of the 360 to see.DRGN LRD 1213 wrote:Its a black 360 elite..... would that have a hdmi port?
No hdmi does not give a better picture (at least that I know) just means you have to deal with just one cord instead of those 6 heads.DRGN LRD 1213 wrote:Ok I looked at photos online and it does. What is the diference tho??? Does one give a better picture than another?

Mine had no difference at all. Kinda weird that it would make a difference for people, it's the same picture just being transmitted a different way.
red, white, and yellow cables are 480p.Ducksaws wrote:Pretty sure the red yellow and white cables the 360 comes with will work just fine for your xbox. Some new tvs have them, just tell your dad to get one with the red white yellow inputs on the back, think it's called composite or component.
Also keep in mind: you probably won't notice 1080p unless your TV is bigger than 50 inches, so you might want to consider saving a thousand dollars by using the barely noticeable lower resolution 720p
Plasma screens have better, brighter picture but they get much worse glare than LCD. LCD pretty much does not have glare at all. So get a plasma if you mostly watch TV far away from windows or only at night.

Still looks like ass compared to 720pMetalzoic wrote:red, white, and yellow cables are 480p.
Yes, but 480i not p. You still need component cables/Hdmi/Dvi etc... to send a progressive picture.
Before I got my hdtv I was using a tv from the 80's.DrBob276 wrote:Everything looks like ass compared to my awesome, 20" in SD TV with one audio plug in from the early 90's. HELL YEAH! xD
