Help me pick a laptop.

So so I need a new laptop for school and I have narrowed it down to these 2.

Hp pavilion dm3 link:amazon.com

Acer aspire one 521 link:amazon.com

If you think I could get something better for the money please tell me what it is so I can consider it.

I hate my HP.

I'm fed up with laptops. They're great for a year, and then all the bugs come out. This POS I've got right now (dv5z) overheats all the damn time.

Prior to that I owned a Dell, and the speakers broke. Then the audio jack started fritzing out, and I'd have to jiggle the 3.5mm cord until it worked. Eventually the jack fell inside the computer.
Then when I spilled a glass of whiskey on it and fried the video card, when I attempted to buy a replacement and do the swap myself, it was damn near impossible.

I dunno. Get a tower. Or a netbook. Laptops are the devil.

Why don't you check out the links I gave and help me decide?

I didn't look at the specs. You know what you want in a laptop, so I'm assuming you've got the right ones picked out.

I'd go with the Acer, just based on the brand alone.

The Acer Aspire series is pretty nice, I own that laptop and it's good for use. Not bulky/heavy and runs smoothly.

And Acer wins anyways as a brand :p

However that price is a bit offputting. Especially 1gb of ram? mine was £150 and had 2GB of RAM with 320 GB Hard drive. If I was you, look for a better deal incase.

Mine isn't that, it's got 320 GB of Space and 2gb of RAM, the rest is the same as the Aspire One.

Does it have windows 7 because once that was released pretty much all netbooks where required to have 1GB of ram plus a smaller hard drive in order to get the discount on windows.

Well i'm thinking that windows 7 is why it costed. I got Windows vista but was entitled to a free copy of Windows 7 which was nice.

Uh that is just like the one I put in my original post but is $200 more with a dual core and slower hard drive/ram.

i dont really pay attention to specs hehe oh well thats my effort for the day
