I don't think it's too much of a stretch. The only thing stopping them is the thought of profit shares lol.

Sony's hardware? I'm guessing you mean the PS3's reliability right?

This would be awesome, although i kinda doubt it would ever happen. the playstation and xbox franchises have a lot of value in them, and abandoning them doesnt seem like something either side would want to do. Ive always wished the PS3 and 360 networks could be joined though... dont see any real reason why they cant except for MS and SONY being difficult.

All I know is that the next round of consoles are going to be damn good. Likely 2014 PC grade or better.
