I just like hardware. And this thing is a beast. That Samaritan video looks insane.

Some actual reviews.

The reason the card is so amazing is because not only was it able to beat the 7970 performance wise for $50 but it also has considerably less power drawer, making it a very efficient card per watt.

Might replace my 570 with one of these. I would SLI, but I would have to buy a new power supply and rewire EVERYTHING and in the end it would cost just about the same as a 680.

I'm waiting for 700 series, which should come out later this year.

My current 590 outperforms 680, and 600 series does not use new design which was supposed to be implemented, but was instead going to be used for 700 series.

I thought the Kepler was the new architecture?

It is, but its like version 1.5 of 500 series.

The actual change will take place in 700 series, and in 700series, they will be using MUCH smaller chips (I think its almost half the size). This, combined with 2.0 architecture, will enable the 700 series to perform almost twice as efficiently compared to 500 series, theoretically.

Currently 600 series should be only 15% more efficient, per watt, compared to 500 series.

Ah yes the GK110, will be really interesting to see that later this year/early next year.

Yeah, I'm absolutely looking forward for 700 series.

Good thing that I did not go ahead and bought my second 590, as 700 series would just blow 590 out of the water even as a single GPU board.

I wasn't aware the 700 series was scheduled for this year. Will definitely wait for that.

nVIDIA had a strange trend that they revolutionized their design every other numbered series, ever since 7000 series iirc. The thing is, they were trying to break that trend starting from 600 series, but Intel was not able to deliver the GK110 in sufficient quality & quantity to nVIDIA. Therefore, nVIDIA just went on and released 600 series with updated version of 500 series, instead of revolutionizing.

Since 600 series had this downfall, 700 series is being released in a rapid succession.
