So I got windows 8 today and overall I am liking it so far. UI is cleaner, explorer is improved, task manager is greatly improved, and there was an overall performance boost for just about everything. Had a few issues in the beginning but that was sorted out quickly. Overall I feel it was worth the $15 upgrade. WIN+X is also a fantastic new command.

I'm still worried about my Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion not being compatible with Win 8.

How much of a boost are you seeing?

Just around 2% to 7% in most games around 10% with my boot times. I know my sound card has no official windows 8 drivers, but I was already using a community universal driver that supported windows 8 so I had no issues.

I wonder how much it costs in HK for professional version.

I really like Windows 8. My wife went "OOooooooooohhhh" and clapped when she first saw Windows 8. My daughter loves it as well.

I'm going to buy her one of those touch screen all-in-one windows 8 PCs for her birthday in a couple weeks.

Creative drivers are shit though, mine don't even always work properly with Windows 7.

Isn't there a way to upgrade without formatting? So all my programs and shit are still installed?

I'm considering upgrading for the performance increase but I'm not looking forward to the tablet based interface, hopefully that's easy to change around. I'm also worried about Creative drivers as well since I'm using a Titanium HD now.

The tablet interface isn't bad, it gives you a pretty good degree of customization. But some programs (Skype, for instance) are better in their desktop version. so if a program doesn't work, you might actually have a tablet-optimized version. It bears looking to find a different version.
