[FONV] Bulk ammo

I know it can be obvious, but to get it straight.

Bulk ammo is supposed to be lower grade ammo, right, which reduces weapon condition, according to the description by the general store guy in Goodspring.

However, it says 0.85x weapon condition, which makes me think that it degrades the gun less while using it.

I know overcharged cells of energy weapons makes sense, since you are putting strain on a weapon, but this just did not sound right.

So, is this a bug? Or is it meant to be???

It's cheap ammo that degrades your gun faster, so it must be a bug. Also, why are you using bulk ammo? Is it for the Pulse Gun?

Nah, I started a new game. At the beginning stage.

Oh. I wouldn't use bulk ammo for anything other than the Pulse Gun, unless you take the confirmed bachelor perk for free repairs.

Is it for all guns? Where is this?

I'm not sure how it works as I've never done it, but if you take the Confirmed Bachelor perk, you can have Knight at the Mojave Outpost give you free repairs since he is gay.

The way it works it it multiplies your guns condition by that amount. so its only 85% health compared to when using normal ammo.


Also I dont have anything to look at right now for the values but I think overcharge is weapon degrade *1.15 or something?

That would mean that it degrades 15% faster than normal. So they use 2 different calculations but they get the same result.

I have the perk, so I guess I should try this out.

Hope it is for all guns any time. It would be not too bad if it is just for one time, since this can save me some caps.

Mojave Outpost eh? Isn't that somewhere like south west or something?

It's in the South West corner of the map. I found this on the wiki:

"With the Confirmed Bachelor perk, Knight will do repairs for free. This was removed with the latest patch for Xbox 360, and PS3 (it appears he will do free repairs only the first time you speak with him or while you're still at a lower level. Once his repair goes up to 100 he will charge you and changes his dialogue from "ok, let me sign off on that work order for you" to "sign here, here and here")."

Damn, at least I can get on free repair, which is good enough I suppose.
