Since we were discussing some of the movies that originated from comics/graphic novels, might as well make a topic about them. Just curious as to how many "nerds" there are out there that still read, have read, or whatever with comics. I'm still an occasional reader, as I nearly don't read them as much as I used to. I still have my collection though and doubt I'll be getting rid of it anytime soon. I was big into the X-Men and Spider Man, but not so much anymore. The movies kind of ruined that for me.

As for a One Shot goes, my favorite has to be Ruins. It was a Marvel published one shot that showed what would happen in the everything in the Marvel Universe happened IRL. Kind of crazy, but well written and drawn. If you could find it, I'd highly recommend it.

I was a fan of Marvel's Ultimate universe. A fresh take on old stories. But I don't collect anymore. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday.

I have a fair few comics in my collection - ranging from an almost complete collection of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, through to bits of The Darkness, Preacher and some of the more usual suspects such as Spider-Man, X-men etc.

I certainly wouldn't consider myself as having any great knowledge of comics past, but I certainly am nerd enough to be working on my own graphic novel Cool

And when I say working on, I mean reeeeeeeeeeal slooowly..... Rolling Eyes

My friend is the artist for most of the issues of this. I know the zombie lovers out there will also like this if they like comics too: http://zombiefubar.wordpress.com/

Other than all the complete Marvel Zombies series (including the covers collection) and the illustrated takes on the "zombie Survival Guides'''s 'historical accounts'. I have no comics. Never really been into them, although I don't mind reading them when the chance arises...

really like the old Spawn series.

Oh, I also have a comic adaptation of Kafka's Metamorphosis.

Mark Waid anything is great. Him and Allen Moore are two of my all time favorite writers. As for artist, well I don't think it gets much better than Alex Ross. The man paints everything. EVERYTHING!
