I've never been even hit by a Radroach personally, even though I almost got gangbanged by Mantis' outside of Vault 22, because I didn't expect them (they weren't there when I went down there at night, but were there when I came back out the next). They met my new friend, Mr. Minigun; Mr. Minigun likes to bite. xD

Killed by a radroach? Not that hard if you can't bloody hit the thing. Difficult if you're having trouble with the controls.

No offense, but I would probably laugh until I cried if I watched somebody get killed by a radroach. That would beat watching my friend get the shit beat out of him on MK: DA about 50 times by Moloch, then watching my sister who's never played a fighter game win, and that's pretty hard to top.

none taken, Soap Wink

i know, i know, everyone gives me shit for using cheat codes! but i am impatient, and i got tired of trying to level so i could get on with the storyline >.>

Oh totally, so would I, as long as it wasn't me. I didn't actually witness her difficulties with the radroach.

Edit: Sidenote - ... Is there only one Radroach in Vegas? The only one I ever saw got chased down and killed by a gecko.

you would have laughed at me, admit it. then i would have brained you with your own controller, then we'd see who be laughin' then.

Kyuubey

I've seen more than one Radroach.

I laugh at everyone when they fail on games, especially my best friend, like when he kept dying to a boss on Duke Nukem. I love imitating some stupid noise the boss makes just to piss them off and remind them of it. xD

But think about it, Bethesda took a chance and revitalized the series.

Other then the old school Fallout fans and PC gamers(such as myself), it wouldn't have sold well, like at all, if they kept the original format. Tehy took a chance and it worked. Bringing in a bunch of new fans, and money to keep this fantastic series going.

and as we have already seen, New Vegas has vastly improved on Fallout 3. And if it keeps up like it is, it should turn out to be an even more amazing series.

And to asnwer your earlier question about why the Mutants in the 3rd game where bad. Apparently they are considered 2nd Gen mutants. Ones that started capturing and dunking humans into F.E.V. vats randomly with the sole purpose of making more of themselves. And because the Master wasn't around, there wasn't an intelligent being(or one as intelligent or near as intelligent as the Master was),to oversee the whole process, so many of them came out overexposed to the FEV and thus had lower IQs and crap then the original muties.

Red font means I edited my post.

I thought it was cute, this gecko running all batshit insane, biting it once, then running away all batshit.

Almost as good as those times when those Golden Geckos (totally not Animal Friend) saved my ass from Legion assassins.

well, that makes sense then. i was so confused when i played the game, i was like... why in the hell are muties all evil?

Daedalus

in FO3, there were a grand total of two mutants who were not evil, Fawkes, and Uncle Leo. Leo was only encountered randomly. All mutants, however, were dumb as hell.

Dropped Da Soap

Dropped Da Soap

That was due to the overexposion....if thats a word....to the FEV chemical.

If you remember any of the conversations with Fawkes or Uncle Leo, they both said that they were hated by all the other mutants cause they came out of the vats completely different from the rest of the mutants.

How the **** did I miss this topic?

Great points of view here. I have nothing to add that hasn't been said before but I appreciate how mature the conversation stayed for the most part.

Good show folks and props to Heebs for posting such a ballsy topic on her first day here!

Anyways, Give NV a chance. I LOVED FO3, thought it was great and NV improves many aspects of it to give it a slightly better RPG experience.

While waiting for FO3 I DL'd Fallout and checked it out. I didn't care too much for the gameplay personally (this is probably mainly due to me being the furthest thing from a PC gamer out there) but I could definitely see why the change in playstyle would be jarring to players of the older games.

As much as I loved FO3, NV tops it with all of the stuff they added. I hate to say it but NV almost seems like what they planned on FO3 being but didn't have the time to realize it's full potential.

VATS in FO3 made the game easy mode. I reaaaaally appreciate the strengthening of the RPG elements in FO:NV. VATS isn't godmode, your stats actually matter, and you have to pick your skills and perks very carefully.

I agree about the VATS thing, but I still don't think that picking your stats carefully really matters, lol. I've watched gameplay of people who have never played the game on Very Hard/HC, and it still didn't look very difficult, but like I've said earlier, Fallout isn't generally played to be a difficult game, if I wanted that, I'd play CoD4 or WaW on Veteran. I just pick generally what I want, and I do just fine; the game is designed so people can succeed by playing how they want to (which is actually a good thing is this game, IMO)

thanks lol

i will give NV a try, especially now that my BF got it on PC for me, since i fail at the 360 controls in FO3. but i won't be going back home for at least a month, so i will be sure to post my thoughts on NV when i get the chance to play it.

The game is easy if you can break their DT while keeping your DT above their weapons. If your guns don't have a high enough damage while your armor is subpar, you're gonna have a hard time.

Now that I think about it, that's one thing I dislike about the game. I don't think DMG should determine whether or not you break their DT; I think DPS should be the thing that makes or breaks it.

Kyuubey

Kyuubey

When you play NV, you should actually play the game and not cheat.

Heebs

Heebs

lol, you sound just like my BF and my brother. they get their panties all up in a twist because i used cheat codes on FO3 to beat the game. i don't go into a new game and automatically whip out the cheats, i like to try it out first before i even consider it, so don't worry.

Kyuubey

Kyuubey

If F3 was too hard for you so you had to turn cheats on, then you are going to turn on cheats even faster. New Vegas is a lot harder than Fallout 3.

Heebs

Heebs

maybe i will, maybe i won't. it all depends on how impatient i am to get on with the story. if i have to reload a ton of times i get pissed off and flip on the cheats so i can hurry it up and get on with the storyline.

that is my favorite part of RPG type games, the storyline. i get very annoyed when i am hampered by reloads.

Just play on easy or something it'll be fine.

Kyuubey

Fallout 3 wasn't very strong on story. New Vegas has much better writing, and the story is much better once it takes off(When you get to the strip).

Heebs

i think part of my FO3 and NV hate is because my boyfriend yammers about it constantly.

i think i might be a teensy bit biased >.>
